Could we finish .500 this year. Possibly, but not likely as we have too many good teams to contend with in the Valley. Even with say a 7-6 non-conference record, it might be a bit difficult to finish 9-9 in the Valley, though 6 or 7 wins are certainly doable, and a nice improvement over last year's 4 wins.
The good news is we should be able to sweep SIU though!
