thanks -- people can believe what they want but if a player leaves a program 2 to 3 months after the new coach is there - then it can hardly be factual to say that when Crean got hired at IU he had a completely empty roster --

Call it what you want - but 2 months after Crean arrived, he "dismissed" some of those players who claimed they were planning to return and play for Tom Crean.
Maybe it was the right thing to boot those guys - that's TC's decision - but I was simply responding to the claim that Crean "started with nothing" when in fact he started with more players and more talent on the roster than Geno Ford started with.
Here is a statement released a short time ago by IU Media Relations: BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Crean announced today that junior DeAndre Thomas has been dismissed from the program and will not have his ...

According to a report by Terry Hutchens of the Indianapolis Star, Jamarcus Ellis, DeAndre Thomas and Eli Holman are all planning to return to Bloomington next season. However, Brandon McGee, Jordan Crawford and Armon Bassett have yet to decide, according ...

Is that your blog? I certainly didn't mean to be insensitive to a fellow BU fan's opinion blog. I know it takes time to put together those column-like pieces.

I suppose it's all water under the bridge at this point, but had I known that you were interested in what happened at IU during that time I could have passed along some information to you.

In any event, I'm always glad to see Kentucky and Calipari lose.

From what I heard some players left, others were encouraged to leave, and some had no choice. Weren't several of those players accused of drug use, insubordination, and didn't some have criminal records? I'm $ure $ome even had certain expectation$ of what IU and IU'$ coaches owed/promi$ed them. I imagine Crean refu$ed to meet their demand$.

Fortunately, Geno inherited good kids when he took over at BU. They were no where near the talent level of the IU thug$ but I'll take that any day of the week. I'm hopeful and confident that Geno will build BU's program the right way and in a fair and efficient manner.

          speaking of inherited...

Kent State (7-1 incl win over West Virginia) is off to an awesome start and their current head coach Rob Senderoff is getting written up as the next great mid-major coach who'll be a prime target to jump to the bigs...

          but....those are all Geno's players!

Other Kent State assistants are being written up as possible head coach prospects
and they are all either Geno hires or proteges

Even the folks in the Athletic Dept at KSU are moving up - partly courtesy of Geno's success there
