UWM-UNI game looks good by record..although it doesn't appear UWM has played anyone yet.
I wonder if Dave Snell has changed his tune about Frostbite Falls "why we ever let UNI in the Valley is beyond me"..... -
UWM beat a Big East team, although not one of the better ones (DePaul at DePaul), and they were competetive at Michigan State, their only loss. They are pretty good, and it proves you can build a team around transfers which goes against the common logic that you have to build around HS recruits and maybe fill gaps with transfers. They start 2 transfers who were originally from MVC schools (James Haarsma and Kaylon Williams), and 3 juco transfers (Paris Gulley, Ryan Allen, and Williams).
And I think Dave has already admitted UNI is good for the MVC, but I don't think he'll ever drop the Frostbit Falls reference. It always seems like it's very cold with knee deep snow when we play there.Comment

four of their top 6 players in playing time (Williams, Haarsma, Allen, Gulley) are transfers from other D-I's or jucos...so they are a little bit of a Transfer U.Comment

St Joe's improves to 7-3. They have a decent, but not great win against a mediocre Georgia Tech team, and a loss against Seton Hall. Not much else on their schedule, but they did have two head scratching losses agains Iona and American U. Looks like they got their quality top 25 non-con win of the year, and perhaps they may be a very good team. At least I'm sure that's what Creighton is hoping for when Selection Sunday rolls around.Comment

I would hardly call a loss to Iona head scratching. Iona looks to have the makings of a very good team this year and they will be dancing come march. Probably a top 5 mid-major team. Their only loss was to Purdue 91-90.Originally posted by Bravesfan View PostComment

Rather have MSU and UNI win their games than for Creighton to win.
The UNI game was especially critical to keep At-large chances strong.
Drake, Missouri St., ISU (red), Indy St. seem to comprise a pretty strong middle pack for the Valley.Comment
