This explains why Bocot did not play in last night's loss to Western Kentucky.
Here is the story from the Carbondale press-
I like this response from the SIU coach and administration. How would this go over at Bradley?-
SIU men??™s basketball head coach Chris Lowery reiterated Bocot has not been charged with a crime.
???We are aware of the early stages of a police investigation involving Justin, and we are closely monitoring this situation,???Lowery said in a prepared statement. ???It is important to emphasize that he has not been charged with wrongdoing. When the facts are known, we will act accordingly."
SIU spokesman Rod Sievers said the incident has triggered university action in accordance with the school??™s student conduct code.
???The university is aware of the situation, and the student affairs office is waiting to see what should happen down the road in order that appropriate action can be taken, if necessary,???Sievers said.

interesting as this was known to some as early as last Saturday - and there's a couple more players there with issues as well......

And there was hysteria among a few self-righteous when a player was first accused of something similar here, even though some knew the charges were overblown and that was eventually proven to be the case.
If the coach here had said something like Lowery said, "we are closely monitoring this situation...When the facts are known, we will act accordingly" I can only imagine how ballistic some would have become.
