Big East set to add five new members - mainly for football..
Boise State, San Diego St, Houston, UCF, SMU ...
Announcement will be tomorrow and new members will join in 2013
This gets the BEast up to 10 in football and back to 16 in basketball, if you're keeping score at home. Boise St and SDSU will be football only and will neuter their other sports to make this happen.

Not necessarily. I think a WCC consisting of Gonzaga, St. Mary's, BYU, SDSU, Boise St., Pepperdine, Portland, Loyola Marymount, San Diego and Santa Clara could have potential to be a pretty good basketball conference.

Except that the WCC doesn't want public schools with marginal academics and that Boise St and SDSU have a good chance of being sent careening to the Big West. Although the already-neutured WAC is another option.
