Anyways, you are proposing we keep DSE, Eastman, Lemon Jr., and Prosser? I guess we could keep Crawford and Shayok another year and see how they do, but everyone else should be gone?
The freshman all get 2 years to prove themselves, I am not going to name the non contributors as most know who these players are, if Geno has any chance at turning this around at all by next season then he needs D-1 basketball players , I know if is a big word, but if we had one good outside shooter we would at least be 5-2 .

Well I don't know about that view.

I do know THIS year's team and coaches don't get much support here. It's too bad. We have kids playing hard and a new coach.

It's going to take time. I believe in Coach Ford and the staff at Bradley.

I support the players, but from what I have seen so far, which isn't much, I can't blindly support what is or is not going on with this staff! I expect a lot more than what I have been seeing from an experienced coach.

As I have always said, I am as big a fan of Geno as there is, and nothing I have said is a slam against our current coaches, and they know that.
But maybe now some of those who were cheering for a coaching change and anticipated an immediate improvement and success will now admit I and others who predicted "fallout" and a giant step backward were right (actually some already have admited this and have told me so).
Yes, I know the standard comeback line will be "but we couldn't get much worse than a 9th place finish". But those kinds of comments are nonsense, since injuries last season were the main reason for that dismal finish, not the talent on the team. If not for the injuries, last year's team was at least on the level of Indiana State and was capable of a top 3 finish or a post season tournament.
Now, we have what many wanted, and we will have to suffer through some tough times (tougher than they might have been), and it will likely last more than just one or two seasons.

I will admit that I wanted a change. No doubt.

But I don't see any fallout that wasn't expected. Every time you change coaches, you have players come in and out.

I never thought this year would have been good. With or without Jim Les.

Jim got almost a decade. He was 14 games above .500. I think he got more than a fair share to show what he could do.

Now, Coach Ford will get his shot. I think the team is working hard to build that foundation. Every game will not be pretty. Most first years are not.

Give this group time. If we are still here in 3-4 years, then we can talk about disappointment and failure.

But for now, I am going to allow the new staff and this group of players a little leeway.

I think they can still improve this season.

You cannot expect a new coach to come in and win big immediately because of how bad a shape this program was in when he got here, I support Geno and his staff, just hope he is given the amount of leeway he needs in order to right the ship.

Don't let the vocal minority distract you, Coach Ford will be given a fair shot by the administration.

Of course he will, and everyone supports him. But the state of the program was not as bad as some want to portray.

                      Fact

The fact is this..Geno has some limited players on this roster..there are some guys who dont belong here or any D1 institution. Next year Bell and Pickett will help and Egoff back but still no shooters..now 2013 will be better...Hopefully Taphorn and another shooter coming in...but at the end of the day you got to make shots.

What program you watching? We were never above 4th or 5th place. You satisified with that? You or T said on another post without injuries last year we would have been on a par with ISU blue. I want some of what your drinking. We start 4 people the last regime brought in and several of the of the first of the bench(Sticks/Eastman). Outside of TB the other 5 leave a little to be desired. This mess will not be corrected in the next year or two but we need to back these kids, look for improvement and wait until Geno can get his own kids in here.
I know alot of people on here are big Sammy fans and I was two. My 5 grandkids have #5 t-shirts but we need to let him go . He's not here and I only want people here who want to be here. Why do we keep having to bring him up. He wasn't going to lead us to the promise land. Yes, he may lead the Illini to the big dance but Bruce has surrounded him with much better talent then we have.
Last but not least, our Freshmen. They are Freshmen for crying out loud. Probably very few had the chance to go to a BCS school. What do you expect. The jurys still out on them and we need to have patience with them. Both coaches are responsible for bringing them in and early verdicts may show errors were made by both JL and Geno but lets give them a chance. Its going to get better.

Please Wily, before last year's injury riddled season, we won over 100 games over the previous 5 seasons with RPI's consistently in the top 100. Nobody was satisfied with 4th or 5th place finishes, but it is not like the program was in horrible shape. But believe whatever you want. I hope to see Geno do better, but there are no guarantees.

You are correct, there are no guarantees.

We have to go by the actual data. Jim Les coached 9 years, won slightly more than he lost, and was under .500 in conference. This has nothing to do with 1 year. It has to do with 9 years.

We have no idea if Coach Ford can win like he did at his last stop. But he was hired, in part, because of his track record.

I don't know why we can't get past the past and look forward to the future.

This coach and team deserve that much.

                            Go Bradley

did anyone think there would be immediate improvement? I know some say that last place there is no where to go but up...but most sane fans know without the injuries we were much better and even the last few weeks last season we were much improved....

like I posted elsewhere : For me....Time to relax and enjoy watching our team play...many asked for the change and were happy with the change...suc it up and root for the players we have...better days ahead...how many days?....don't know...just counting on Coach and staff to get it done...as they see fit...lets get a W Tuesday Braves!

lack of effort and i'll start complaining...

I support everyone, but Jim Les' teams played hard too, and that wasn't good enough. Why is it good enough now?
