Stan Albeck started his BU coaching career with an NCAA caliber team that Versace had put in place for him, Stan and his asst"s did a poor job in recruiting their own players which in turn left Molinari with a bare cupboard to start with, When Molinari was fired he turned over a very good nucleus of players to Les but Joah Tucker left, A.Tisby left because of elgibility issues and Granger quit mid-season, not blaming Les but had he been able to keep these players on the hilltop BU would have gone to the Sweet 16 or further with this group because Gilbert and Gillingham were also on this team.
The unfortunate reality when you make a coaching change is there is always going to be fallouts as it is almost impossible to keep all your remaining players because of their loyalty to their old coach and keeping recruits is also hard because the main reason why they chose Bradley is because of the former coaching staff, the new coach always gets a late start recruiting so year 1 is never very good and he is usually stuck with under performing players which is why the last coach was let go, the process takes time .

I've been on that train all along. When Albeck took over he was lucky to keep the team Dick V put together. Took them a year to adjust and then they put together a big dance season. Other BU coaches haven't been that lucky.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

and so it goes....but the very same people to a large degree who railed and hollered for Molinari's firing - then turned right around and blamed Les for not doing better with Mo's players...
and we are going to see it again -- as people seem already to be blaming Geno for not doing better with the players he's got now...

The real issue is maybe we should count the cost before axing coaches then complaining that what we have isn't any better

Let's compare apples to apples at least. Not seeing improvement after 9 seasons is not the same thing as those upset with a coach after 2 months. There is always a " cost" to getting rid of any coach. You do so hoping the benefitnofnthe new coach eventually far outweighs that.

In order to be fair coach Ford deserves 3 to 4 years before anyone should decide on whether or not he is getting the job done right, the next 2 years hopefully will be good recruiting years and we will all be talking about competing for championships and a sold out Carver Arena.
I knew there would be some fall out as there always is with any coaching change, both Jims had more then ample time to prove they were the right ones for the job, but in this business you have to do a better job of winning.

Before the season started, I believed that this team would struggle to win many more than 10 games. Six games into the season, I still feel the exact same way. Regardless, I completely support Coach Ford and the team.

Correct. When any coach, at any school, takes over for a coach who got fired for poor job performance 3-4 years is generally the norm to start looking at the state of the program. Until then you just have to sit back and let the process play out.
