-UNI beat Iowa State 69-62 but UNI's starters shot poorly and they got bailed out by a couple subs - Sonnen & Morrison.
How long 'til Iowa State decides they simply don't wanna play the other instate sachools?

BUT -- Iowa State does have a stud - Royce White - averaging about 18 pts, 12 rebs - they just don't have anyone to go with him except a bunch of castoffs from midmajors like Babb & Booker.
But consider this -- they could have had DOUG MCDERMOTT! Seriously - hey his dad was their coach and can you imagine if they had McDermott & White!!

-ISU beats Chicago State 85-41 - CSU's ex-Redbird Jeremy Robinson was 1-11

-Here's the stunner...

-Creighton beats SDSU 85-83 - again - recall UNI had this McDermott (25 pts, 12 rebs) kid signed to a LOI because nobody else even offered the kid - not even his dad at Iowa State!

exactly. Iowa St. would have never seen Doug if his father was still coaching there. He would be a UNI Panther right now. That still has to burn a little for UNI fans.

4th highest scoring team in the nation.
2nd most assists in the nation
5th highest field goal percentage in the nation.

That's pretty impressive for a team that has played Iowa and San Diego State.

one non-Valley game -- Dayton was on a roll but then had a let down last night losing big time at HOME to
Buffalo - 84-55....getting outrebounded 51-30..and shooting very poorly...

Iowa State also has Allen, who used to be at Michigan State. Iowa State is much improved from last year, but they still have one glaring problem, and it is the same problem that plagued the very talented Tulsa team a couple years back, and is the reason Tulsa could not make it to the NCAA tourney. They have absolutely no point guard, and it is the one thing that will hold Iowa State back from being a top level team in the Big 12, and will doom them to middle of the pack or lower. They also love to shoot the 3, and will look great on nights when it falls, and awful on nights it doesn't. Booker hasn't and probably won't see a whole lot of playing time.
