  • 2 more players next season?

I have a strong opinion on the need for more then 2 recruits for next season as with the loss of T.B. and A.T. and the return of the rest of the team we are in need of more then just the 2 new recruits we have signed if we expect to compete at a higher level , this re-building process could go on longer do to the fact of our teams lack of depth, it is a hard thing to do in that we need to open up 2 more roster spots to give to hopefully a few more Jr.College players that can come in and contribute immediately.

Agree thats what we need but I'm not holding my breath. We will get better maybe longer then we hoped but we will get better.

It would not shock me to see Egolf come back in February and finish out his career in style..... That would open up another scholarship. And, we almost always lose one or two to transfers each year.... That could potentially open up 1-3 (or more) additional rides for next season.

B4L I would love to see that happen. I keep seeing that the Will situation is possible. Where is this coming from? I thought an ACL was 1 year of rehab. He looks very mobile when he is walking but this just happened this summer. Feb would only be 7 or 8 months. If anyone knows if this is a possibilty, let us know.

Depends on the severity of the tear, how its repaired, and how strenuous the Athletic Trainer or physical therapist wants to be with rehab. There have been leaps and bounds in medical technology that reduce rehab time significantly compared to the past.

Depending on the tear, 8 months is not out of the question, and a athlete may be able to make it back sooner. It also depends on their mental ability to play, as they have to be able to trust the knee without thinking as well. I find it unlikely that Egolf could be back, but it isn't technically out of the realm of possibility.

Im not sure going out on a Thursday night in STL would be "going out in style" but I see your point

I wish Bradley had Will's scholarship to recruit with this season.

Why don't we all respect WE's contributions and wish him a normal recovery and a 6th year...

Kinda rude to be "hoping" he comes back now so he can be gone by next year..... IMO

WE will be a key player on the team next year, and will be better than any freshman would be NEXT season. I did see someone say they wished we had Will's scholarship for next season, and while it would be nice to have an extra scholarship, the team will probably be better next season with Will than with any freshman, unless we were able to land a great shooter, which would be unlikely.

I'm wishing the Will the best and hoping he has a great recovery and does what is best for him. If he thinks coming back this season is best for him and he is capable of doing so, great. If he would rather have a true senior season next year (provided he gets NCAA clearance), then I hope he does that.

I guess people's thoughts are that we won't be able to compete next season, so they'd rather get a good freshman than have a 6th year senior, but I think we can compete next season. We should have more depth. Provided no injuries (which we always seem to have), we would have WL, DSE, SS, JP, and WE starting next year, with JE, JC, NW, DS, KB, and TP on the bench. Now, that might not be a team that can win the valley, but to me it looks like one that can compete. Either way I will support Will's decision, but it just doesn't make sense why people are "wishing" we had his scholarship for next season. I wish he hadn't gotten hurt this season, but he did, and I'm not going to wish he rushes back from injury so we have an extra scholarship for next season.

I respect his contributions to the Bradley program.

I prefer he not play next year so Bradley can have that open scholarship. I feel that is best for the program. If one thinks that is rude, so be it.

hope or love to see it = pretty much the same thing...

I talked to Will about this a couple weeks ago...I respect him wanting to play a whole season...

After the success the Illini have seen in landing Sammy - I have heard Bruce Weber has offered the full services of the entire U of I legal team to assist in getting TB and WE an extra year from the NCAA
