  • 3PT shooting and FT shooting

So I dazzled up an Excel sheet of 3 point stats and FT stats....BU vs. their opponents:

    Over the entire season:

    FT Shooting

    Opponents: 63/68 59%

    Bradley: 68/114 60%

    3 Point Shooting

    Opponents: 45/133 34%

    Bradley: 20/76 26%

    In our 3 losses:

    FT Shooting

    Opponents: 36/53 59%

    Bradley: 18/35 51%

    3 Point Shooting

    Opponents: 28/64 44%

    Bradley: 10/38 26%

Pretty Noticeable Deficiencies......I still need to know why MK can't log more min....his defense can't be that bad that it outweighs the need for a shooter?

Jordan Prosser is now 5-25 from the field in the last 3 games....

20 percent from a center is unbelieveable

          A decent long range shot....

We really need him because TB and DSE can't play 35+ min. games game after game...

We need another player to give them a break!

Just a theory and this should not be misconstrued as a jab a Geno:

Learning a new offensive system, even though it "seems" to be more natural and fluid, can take up a lot of time. Could the attention to learning a new system be a reason why we are preforming poorly from the FT-Line and the 3-Point Line?

I think it is, well a big reason why. Other reasons seem to be:
            1. We don't have any 3 point shooters.
            2. Just sheer dumb luck.

I'll go with #1. It didn't take Southwest Missouri State long to adept to Lusk. They beat Nevada @ Reno earlier this year by 18 so I'm not buying the system excuse. Still going with #1. Better days are ahead.

How did JP do when paired with AT at the 5 and TB at the 3?

Is he strong/quick/skilled enough to go it alone at the 5...if TB is hanging out on the perimeter, or, outside the paint?

JP will certainly have to continue to evolve his skills/work on weaknesses as teams focus and game plan on him this season...

The interesting thing here is that on FT's, we are not that far off our opponent's percentage. But the last three games really dragged that number down, so it has to improve. Let's just say our FT percentage can't get any worse!

But our 3 point shooting REALLY needs improvement, and fast!
