This next week off will be the true showing of what will come the rest of the season. Now is Geno's chance to make some adjustments, if not, then we will be worse than last season. 3-3 this season, started 4-2 last season and only won 7 more times rest of season.
Must work on FT's and shooting this week. These 2 have been the worst I think I've ever seen it the last 5-10 seasons. Spend very little time on Defense this week in practice, can't win any games if you have zero perimeter shooting and FT's. I think Eastman and Brown are the only 2 that come remotely close to consistently making 2 FT's in a row.
Big week ahead, lets see if Geno can work some magic with this group.

Not making any excuse but I also think the starters logging heavy minutes in back/back games would catch up....still need to shoot FT's better to get W's though!
But I love the effort and never say die spirit of this team...it will pay off in the end!

Can work all you want on freethrows but it is up to the players to step up and start making them, until we do and also start shooting the 3 better we are in for another bad season, also need to go out and get 2 more good recruits for next season or we will not be much better because we lack good outside shooters.
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. ? Nevada guard Malik Story scored a game-high 20 points, capped by two free throws with 5.8 seconds remaining, to seal a 63-59 win against Bradley (3-3) in the consolation game of the Chicago Invitational Challenge Wednesday evening at the Sears Centre.
Busy night for me.. Only listened to parts of the radio broadcast. Loved to hear that we had AT and JP on the floor at the same time. Also liked to see that DS and Milos got some PT!

Jason, I agree with you 100%. I have a friend who can only post on the other board and we argue about this all the time. Yes defense wins games but I'm gonna write a book titled "They only put points on the scoreboard." He's an ex coach and I'm an ex official so you can see why our opinions differ. Don't understand not being able to shoot FT's unless it reverts back to no shooters. Ya think. Better days are ahead.

Benny, I know you love you some bigs ...but according the the +/- statistics, the worst lineups BU has put on the floor this season are when both JP and AT are on the floor at the same time. I LOVE the idea of BU going big, and offensively it definitely SHOULD work, but on the defensive end of the floor BU gets killed because our front line is so incredibly slow.

I'm just glad that Geno is trying different combinations. That shows he will not settle for a set lineup until he can find one that gives us our best chance of winning.
Just got back from Chicago. I noticed a lot fewer of Bradley fans in the stands tonight. Friday night's crowd had a lot of Bradley fans. First the negatives: Other than TB and DSE, we do not have any shooters. I do not want to see Eastman ever taking another 3 point shot. SS should not dribble the ball through traffic. He has Jordan's number 23, but not the ball handling skills. I think this is one of the worst teams in free throw shooting I have seen. Too many turnovers. Now the positives: DSE is one tough guard. I think Walter Lemon is getting better. AT can help at times both on offense and defense. This team has a lot of heart and does not give up. I do not expect many wins this year, but I am going to support this team.

Lol. You are correct about me favoring the twin aircraft carrier lineup. Still love to hear that Geno is using different lineups though. Haven't seen the stats. Great post PTownHawkeye!
