Anyone watching this game? ISU is leading the Sammy led Illini by 7 early in the 2nd half. I wanted so badly to think we might end our losing streak to them but they look very good.Maybe gonna have to wait till Geno can get his guys in here.

ISU looks good, and Illinois looks disinterested. A loss like this goes on Mike Thomas' "this is why I fired you" list.

I usually dislike ISU more than the U of I. But all preseason games for the MVC I root for the Valley teams. It is a strange feeling to me.

I don't like the fact that they look decent to me.

LC i hear you but I just find it hard to pull for ISU even if they are playing the Sammy led Illini. All even now ISU's shooting has cooled off. Sammy playing well.

"Big Shot Sammy" at it again! Big 3-pointer to put Illini up 59-54 with :49 to go.

Meyers Leonard hasn't gotten much smarter, fouling with a 5 point lead.

Horrible turnover by Sammy nearly cost Illinois the game. Illinois ball with a 2 point lead.

ISU'S Brown hits a 3 to tie the game but was out of bounds. No goal. Hate to say it but I'm really impressed with ISU. The are deep have good guards ,good bigs,& good 3 point shooters. They will not play on Thur. in St.L.You can book it. Hope I'm wrong but that's what I see tonight.

ISU with a chance to win after a BIG Maniscalco turnover but they miss the 3 pointer. The Illini will now win this game 61-59. SM finishes with 14 points I believe. However, he could have iced the game by hitting his free throws and by not turning the ball over. Regardless, good game for Sammy.... Illini lucky to survive.

Ha ha! I think after tonight Weber will not want to play a game against a Valley team again, win or lose!

Sammy was the best player on the floor. His 14 points lead Illinois, and without him, the Illini get blown out. Illinois has a bunch of athletic players, but nobody else who can consistently create shots and score.
When Sammy was off the floor, Illinois stalled and struggled to score, and when he was on the floor, they looked more like a team.

In other MVC action, Evansville loses at Illinois-Chicago 79-75-

Agreed. And for those that thought the coaching change would not hurt in the short term, you can bet the bank that we don't lose that game last night if he was still playing for Bradley, even if he isn't 100% yet.
