    Not at all!

Just curious as to why he never gets mentioned. I thought I stated that in my previous post, but evidently wasn't clear enough.

In fact, the post that I replied to stated "I am more or less looking for improvement. especially from SS,JC, and DS". I figured it would be a good time to ask why DH is seemingly never mentioned.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

I didn't really mean it in a negative way either. I just mean the improvement of the guys that are going to be here for a few years is important to the future. That is what I am looking for a longer term view. But if we happen to lose 20 games in a row, then I may mean it in a negative way.

Why would you have assumed a victory over a Wofford team that has been to the NCAA tournament the past two seasons?

Chico, I think what some of us are saying is that we are happy with the offensive schemes Geno has been running, and the fact that this team is getting open looks. The issue is that we are not making easy shots and free throws. As I said with Les, Geno probably needs to spend more time with the team on shooting drills and free throw practice, if he hasn't started this already. They probably should not have to do that with players at this level, but we know where the problems lie, and missing bunnies and free throws is the main issue that needs to be addressed. Maybe some of our players that were recruited in the past were recruited for athleticsm while being overlooked a bit in the fundamentals department. Irregardless, we know what are shortcomings are.

But I'll continue to hammer away at my other point. To be critical of a coach just four games into his career here is just plain silly in my opinion. How do we know that he hasn't instilled the proper offensive plan already, but maybe just does not have the personnel that is capable of running it? Or how do we know that he won't add additional offensive sets as the season goes on? I don't have a problem if people want to "critic" the coach if there are some glaring issues after he has been here awhile, but to be dismissive of Geno's coaching abilities after four games is really premature in my opinion.

And sorry Chico. I don't think we had any business losing any one of these first four games either. However, while I was hoping we would go undefeated up till now, that we lost one of these four games does not surprise me. I'm sorry, we just don't have the experience on this team to guard against letdowns like this, and we will see more of this throughout the season. It's part of the learning process, but if this leads to steady improvement in the standings over the next few years, along with the eventual elimination of these kind of losses, then I don't think even the Geno critics will have any issue with him as a coach two or three years down the line.

They seem to be good kids who are freshmen at a rebuilding mid-major program. History shows that most freshmen at mid-majors (especially non-guards) make very little immediate impact. I'd like to see BU fans give both the kids and Geno some time and a chance to show what they can do. If, after 2-3 years we see a trend of poor recruiting and player development then, by all means, criticize away. JMO

Braves fan, don't believe I blamed Geno for the loss. Was just wondering how you can be happy with an offense that can't make 3's or free throws.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Well again, I'm not saying I'm happy with their offense either. I never said I wasn't. But perhaps I misinterpreted what you were saying earlier. You sounded like you blamed some of the poor offense on Geno for not being able to establish a better plan. All I was saying was the guy can implement all the greatest offensive schemes in the world, but if he doesn't have the personnel to excute them, he can't do anymore until he recruits some players who can. And that can't possibly be done in his first season. So the next best thing is for him to try to be patient and teach the players he does have his new system so they can at least improve as the season goes along. But with little depth, that will be tough to accomplish as well, unless some of the freshmen step up throughout the year.

But anyway, will put aside the debate on Thanksgiving Day. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving Chico!

I said the players were missing easy shots and not making free throws. Hard to interpret that as blaming the coach. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving also.

I hate to harp on this, and it will be the last time I do so, but I don't see to many 'critics' of Geno at this point. I see people who are disappointed with aspects of what they've seen, or people who haven't seen some things they would have liked to (myself included), but I think you are incorrectly interpretting these things as 'shots' on Geno. I don't think anyone on here thinks that we should be judging Geno at this point in the season, or even this season at all.
