Panic?

No panic here...had an enjoyable evening with my Grandsons and son-in-law...the kids loved the atmosphere and the popcorn

Most teams have off nights and so do most players... actually excited to see how we do vs Wisky...

I wonder what some these panic guys expectation are of this team. I wish they do better then my expectation but there are too many holes on this team. Last night was a bit of reality and we played a team that played very well.

Energy, hustle, effort all the time.

That should be the standard for all BU MBB players, win or lose, this season and during GF's tenure.

BU was picked 6th in the MVC last preseason taking into consideration all their players were going to play (INCLUDING SM and TB)...An indication of how bare the rest of the cupboard was at BU last year, and, an indication of how long it will take GF to get enough talent to get back to the top.

The previous program went several years before a level of success was reached. It takes time to put a system in and to get quality players in to play it.

This is not entirely accurate. BU's 6th place poll ranking in 2010 was in part due to the worse than predicted finish in the 2009-2010 season, which again was partly the result of injuries to key starters for substantial numbers of games that previous year.

I think this was all caused by those who talked about Geno winning and becoming only the third BU coach in all of history to win his first four game...
and "this, of course, put way too much pressure on him and caused him to fail"...

At the time of the 2010-11 preseason poll, BU had proven talent in ALL MVC SM, TB, and AW. These players had been around for a while and their talents were well known.

They also had a 5th year senior in DD, and two fourth year players in WE and AT...

How this team was picked 6th by the guys who know a lot more than I do stunned me at the time. BU players 4-11 (excluding unknowns Fr WL and JP) apparently were not held in high esteem by the rest of the Valley.

Fortunately past performance is not always an indication of future results, so JE, MK, WL, AT, and DSE can still prove the rest of the MVC wrong.

I am not panicing. I am waiting to be impressed with Geno and his staff!
I am using the same standard for Geno and his staff that I applied to JL last year after the injuries. This is Geno's "pass year' and his time to show us what he has as a division 1 coach. We should see improvement with the players,specifically the underclassmen, teaching better defensive fundamentals, experiment with offensive sets to name some of the aspects. I really hope to not see one of our players pulling up for a three on the fly with nobody near the basket starting from the middle of this season to the MVC tournament.

There apparently wasn't a lot of respect for the ability of the rest of the BU line up players 4 -11...and two newcomers JP and WL who hadn't played yet.

Maybe just no respect for TB. One writer this season didn't even have him as one of the top 20 players in the Valley.
