The show goes by so quickly as it doesn't start until after the 8:30am news segment & commercials, so they're really not talking to Geno 'til 8:38 or so...
then they start wrapping it up at 8:55...
But...here's what Geno talked about..
the various aspects and thoughts of the past couple games - the SEMO game & North Dakota game..
On the SEMO game, Geno talked again about how important the fans were and the students...not only is he convinced that it gained Bradley the equivalent of a couple points' worth of advantage but that it essentially got us the win...
He talked a bit about how the team is still working on some concepts and defensive strategies because they're young, and largely new to college ball and new to the coach...seemed to hint maybe a press is coming..
Also talked about Taylor's great game at Renaissance, and how far he's come, and how "short the bench is" in regards to experience and how we're going to need to go heavy minutes with key guys - so conditioning is a must...
We have only had THREE practices so far at the Civic Center and, of course, 3 games/exhibitions...so the shooting pcts. at the Civic Center will get better as our guys get more practices down there.
In talking about who has stepped up so far....
HE SPECIFICALLY NAMED JORDAN PROSSER AS THE TEAM'S MVP THUS FAR INTO THE SEASON!!!
He went on to talk more and was amazed at how far JP has come - as he was not expecting too much after seeing JP averaged less than 6 ppg last year.
He talked about his memory of seeing Jordan Prosser playing during the recruiting periods back when JP was still at Eureka and during AAU play - and he said he never bothered much to recruit Jordan although he thought he was a GREAT, high major player...a kid who would definitley get scooped up by someone else - like IL, or one of the big schools a lot closer than Ohio.
Really likes JP's big time moves in the paint, ability to go up & under or use the hook shot and specifically his ability to change hands and go left or right - makes him much harder to defend.
Also singled out DSE for fine play but talked a bit with Dan regarding some less than ideal shot selection.
He also talked a bit about upcoming Wofford...a good team - 3 experienced seniors who are all averaging double digits and a team that's been to the NCAA two straight years.
Kinda hopes the talk among fans & students will get bigger corwds -- specifically gave kudos to the "fans who sit down front and who are there win or lose"....he's really grateful for the immense loyaly of BU's biggest and best fans who support the team all the time -- he noted he did not have that at Kent State and averaged only about 3000 in a 6000 seat arena even when they won 25 games!!
He explained that his comment about "scripting" the SEMO game to win at the last second was really just a joke - apparently people have approached him thinking he meant it...
