Yes. Glenn Hansen was born in Devils Lake, ND, and attended high school in North Dakota. It was Grand Forks Central High School that he attended. Somehow, the references I used seem to miss him as a North Dakota prep star.

Sorry, but if you had guessed him first, I would have had to award you the prize. But thanks anyway for the correction.

By the way, there are 4 players who played in the NBA that were born in North Dakota, and Phil Jackson was NOT one of them. Jackson was born in Deer Lodge, Montana.

The 4 who were born in ND and who played in the NBA were Glenn Hansen (1976-78 ), Les Jepsen (1991-92), Duane Klueh (1950-51), and Mark Landsberger (1978-84).

Here is a list of the 50 greatest North Dakota sports stars from Sports Illustrated (from 1999). Phil Jackson is #2, behind Roger Maris. Glenn Hansen is #28. After you get past the first few, they become pretty obscure -

For the several new members signing up from North Dakota, here is an article I found that might interest you about two of the greatest ND prep stars on the past - Glenn Hansen, and Reed Monson-

I'm a NoDak by birth, so the Fighting Souix have always been my favorite college hockey team.
