  • Next game- North Dakota at Bradley Saturday, Nov. 19, 7:00 PM at Carver Arena

Bradley, now 2-0, will next play the University of North Dakota fighting Sioux (2-0), Saturday night at 7:00 PM at the Carver Arena.

This is the last game before Bradley resumes play in the Chicago Invitational Challenge with a home game against Wofford next Tuesday, and the games in Chicago on Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26.

The BU schedule has links on the right for Live State and video streaming-

North Dakota has beaten Waldorf College 93-62, and Idaho State 63-47.

Note that their schedule shows that this game will be televised live by FoxCollegeSports, however, Comcast cable has FoxCollege Sports networks, and this game does not show on the schedule for Saturday.

This game will be UND's first road game.

    Here is their roster-

They have 1 player that was recruited by Bradley, Josh Gentry, a freshman from Indianapolis.

And their stats after 2 games-

They are coached by Brian Jones, in his 6th season at North Dakota, and their 4th year in Division I-

The most famous North Dakota University player of the past is Phil Jackson. In fact he is the only famous basketball player from UND's past. But they have had some other famous athletes, mostly hockey players such as former Blackhawk goalie Ed Belfour, and current Blackhawk star Jonathan Toews.

Here is a little North Dakota trivia- Only 2 players who played high school basketball in the state of North Dakota have ever played in the NBA. Of course Phil Jackson is the most well known, he was from Williston, ND, but can anyone name the other? Hint- he played his college basketball in another state.

Let's pack the house and get the students out en masse for this game, too!

The sioux basketball team have always struggled since the mid 90
    s. LAst year was the first yearwe have some excitement. We made the CBI as a transitional team. This is the last year of the 5 year transition and next yearwe moveup to the big sky conference and a chance atmaking the big dance.

strengths- Guards. We have really good depth/ real good guard plays. Look out for Josh Shuler who is extremely accuarate from 3 land, Aaron Ander who is a little guy but plays some stingy defense, Troy huff, when he is on, it is usualy a long nite for teams

Weakness- OUr inside game. Our insidegame just sucks. If you guys have any sort of insidegame, you will win this game unless our guards catch fire from 3 land

quick question= howd you bravesgetthe ncaa to drop you guys off the list? We have had a mess here regard out nickname. the state got into it and made it a law we have to keep the sioux name. then they called a special session last week and repealed that law. now the spirit lake is sueing the ncaa. the spirit lake tribevoted they like the nickname standing rock tribe wontvote cuz of a few dumbass's on the coucnil who dont like it and htey know theire tribel as a whoel will vote for it. they even had some secretceremony in1969 granting eternal use of the nickname for the sioux but thats not enough for the nc$$.

...and you had 15 wins last season over other D-I opponents!
This is not a gimme game for the home team!

Just a small bit of trivia about the North Dakota coach. Can anyone guess where Coach Brian Jones played his HS basketball. I worked many of his games during his HS career including his Semi final loss to Kendall Gill of Rich Central in the 1988 State tourney. Brian was an outstanding Hs player.

            DR's PJS Article on NDSU:
???They??™ll kind of remind our fans of a bigger, better Wisconsin-Parkside (a BU exhibition foe that gave the Braves a battle until the final minutes),??? Ford said. ???They??™ll space you, they have big guys who can shoot and guards who can drive it. Hopefully, we??™ll be better prepared to deal with it than last time.???

Wonder what other teams' coaches and media say about BU?

No, the answer is not Jeff Boschee. He was an All-American high school player from Valley City, ND, started all 4 years he played for Kansas (1998-2002), was not drafted by the NBA. He played pro ball in the USBL, the ABA, and in Europe, but he never played in the NBA. But nice try.

Nobody seems to have the answer to this tough trivia question, which is unusual in this era of infinite databases and searchability, so I'll add a prize package- One of the tee shirts from Wednesday night's game at the Renaissance Coliseum modeled after the 1985-1986 warmup jacket, and a collection of other BU memorabilia including a Bradley license plate frame, Bradley water bottle, light-weight backpack, and Bradley flag (the type that mounts outside on a car window as the car is driven).
The first to post the answer wins.

Here is the question once more-

Correct! You got it. Les Jepsen was a star in high school at Bowbells, North Dakota and went on to a great career at the University of Iowa.
He was drafted with the 1st pick in the second round (28th pick overall) by the Golden State Warriors in 1990. His brief NBA career consisted of only 21 games as a rookie for the Golden State Warriors in 1990-1991, then 31 games in 1991-1992 for the Sacramento Kings. But he is the only other North Dakota prep player to play in the NBA other than Phil Jackson.
Checkout the latest stats of Les Jepsen. Get info about his position, age, height, weight, draft status, shoots, school and more on Basketball-Reference.com

Fansince69 you are the winner- PM me if you would like the prize.

Last year we actually made the CIT not the CBI. Also, it's Aaron Anderson nor Anders but I am sure that was just a typo. I would say our inside game is definitely our weakness but Brandon Brekke is pretty good if he stays out of foul trouble and he's just undersized. When we played Idaho State we held their 7'4" center to 10 points and only 6 boards which matches the amount of rebounds our PG Jamal Webb had. Also, we won the tip against the 7'4" center with a 6'8" guard jumping against him. I just thought that was kind of interesting.

Anyone hear if DSE had a hamstring strain or if it was just cramps the other night? He's had cramps every game this season but the SEMO game seemed pretty bad if it was cramps. Need to hook him up to an IV at halftime if this continues.

Last I heard (yesterday) it was cramps that DSE continues to have trouble with. This is a problem that has bothered him all season, even in practices. Hopefully, the trainers and medical staff will get it solved.
It was DSE's leg cramps that was the reason Coach Ford inserted Charonn Woods into the lineup for the final 4.6 seconds on Wednesday. If Brister had made that shot, we might be blaming DSE's leg cramps for the loss, but it worked out well, and Charonn is the hero!
