I think a lot of the student turn out was because students knew there was a game tonight. I think if we keep working and keep people informed we can get at least half the number of students at most of the games. Hopefully the students had fun and will make the trip down to the CC saturday night. I know i had a blast and was pleasantly surprised to see that the students stepped it up and supported the team.

I suspect Dr Cross and President Glasser didn't want Geno to admit that they wanted to keep the game close and exciting for the students. Doesn't exactly make SEMO feel very good.

I suspect Bradley probably could of pulled out another 10+ point win again now that I read that statement. Some of those layups given up looked rather effortless on our part and that might explain why lol.

This includes the final scoring play by Taylor Brown to tie the game, his free throw to give Bradley the 66-65 lead, then the final 4.6 seconds with SEMO missing their last shot-

Bradley will have links to the highlights and post-game press conference by tomorrow morning in the box below the photo on this page-

I agree that Charron had to make the play happen, but I think it's excellent coaching to show confidence in a player (smart kid too) to follow your instructions. He pulled Charron aside and told him not to let Brister go left and if you watch the video, Charron completely shades him right the whole way down court and turns him back from going left just before his final heave. Good coaching, great execution. Also love the fact that GF gave ALL the credit to the player!!

Secret BU Fan has this to say about 2011-12 BU MBB:

Keep up the good work BU! You may not always have the best talent, but you can be the most prepared, and, the most aggressive!

And as many other people have said A+ to the students great job. Really hope to season another good group of students Saturday vs. North Dakota.
This win will look good on our resume later in the season...not saying it will matter much, but this was a very good test for us! Seems like we didn't catch the breaks the past few seasons at the end of games. With SEMO having a shot with 4.6 left seemed like plenty of time, and we've been burned before in these situations. But it went our WAY!!!!

2-0 for the BRAVES! Would be awesome to start out 3-0.

SEMO's Leon Powell continues to light it up...
now 5 games into their season he's still hitting an incredible
84% of his shots on the season........

Leon Powell had another monster game last night..
                he had 26 pts & 19 rebounds...
His frontcourt teammate Tyler Stone - has had TWO monster games in a row...
Saturday Stone had 18 pts & 17 rebounds, and then last night he had 30 pts & 8 rebs
SEMO has one of the best frontcourt tandems among smaller schools but they really have no good guards to go with them..
Their three starting guards combined last night for only 9 pts on 4-15

After watching SEMO I thought they were a very good and under rated team. I can see them winning the OVC this year. Their coach is now in year #3 at SEMO, proving that it generally takes 3-5 years to recover from the fallout of a coaching change. I hope Geno puts BU back on the map just as quickly.

Dickie Nutt has done it at SEMO mainly with transfers and juco players. His freshman class appears to be very solid, so maybe he can sustain the improvement.

But from what I've heard they are a sold group academically compared to past teams. That makes what he's doing seem that much more impressive.
