It's now 43-16 with 16 minutes left in the game. Setty leads SIU with only 6 points.
SIU has 0 assists, 0 steals, 12 turnovers, and 4 made field goals. They are shooting 17.4% for the game. This is a really bad SIU team and a really good SLU team.
SIU will finish 10th in the MVC.

After shooting 4 for 23 in the first half, SIU has gone 0-6 over the first 8 minutes of the second half and they are now 4 for 29 for the game (13.8%) and 0% from three. 14 of their 22 points are from the free throw line (14 of 21). It's now 47-21 SLU winning at SIU. This game can't end fast enough for the Salukis.
With about 10 minutes remaining SIU still does not have an assist in the game.

SIU down 61-42 with under 2 minutes to go. This may not be a terrible loss for SIU as some national pundits have St. Louis going to the Big Dance (though I'll believe that when I see it). But to get drilled by 19 at home is not acceptable and really hurts the Valley.
As was posted above, SIU has all the earmarks of a 10th place team, though ISU Red, Drake and Bradley could all finish last too. My guess is we are better than all of them, and ISU Red could actually be worse than SIU, which is a scary thought!
I think the top of the Valley will be strong. But despite the "teams get bids, not conferences" crowd, you know a weak third of the Valley will definitely hurt our prospects of getting multiple bids, especially if the Valley has three teams under .500 in the non-conference portion of the season.
EDIT: That turns out to be the final score. Not a good showing tonight for SIU!

Missouri State beat Arkansas State 77-46 last night, and preseason Player of the Year Kyle Weems was scoreless-
In fact the game turned into a blowout so early that the 5 starters played very few minutes and scored only 19 of the 77 points.
In SIU's blowout loss at home to Saint Louis, poor shooting was the problem.
The Salukis made only 4 baskets in each half, and only because of some easy baskets in the final few minutes against the SLU subs, SIU managed to raise their overall shooting percentage to 20%. They ended with 1 assist for the game.
And Drake pulled out the win at home against Iowa State last night 74-65, thanks to 24 points by Ben Simons and 18 points by Rayvonte Rice
Former 4-star SIU center Anthony Booker scored 2 points.

Thanks for clarifying that. Yes, the Yahoo/Rivals box score is way off. Here is the correct one-
Weems played 30 minutes and scored 10 points.

wow -- after all the hype -- Fred Hoiberg has really only one D-I caliber player on that whole team
Royce White - who Fred sorta lured over from Minnesota - had 21 pts/14 rebs
and the entire rest of the team was 12-38, 44 pts, 19 rebs
And it is just astounding how bad SIU is this year...
Like I said elsewhere -- CLo has recruited a bunch of wing players (Taylor, Bocot, Lindsey, Early, even Seck) who just put their heads down and try to drive and never pass even to an open man
8-39 shooting and only one assist in the entire game - wonder if that's an NCAA record or has any team ever gone all 40 minutes without an assist?
This could have been even worse as Majerus played the last 5 minutes or so with his deepest subs unlike some coaches.
And how embarrassing is this loss...
UCLA gets horribly whipped on their home floor by Middle Tennessee!!!!
Move over Chris Lowery - make room for Ben Howland!
And congrats to Tyler Les who got his career high again last night - 9 pts in UC-Davis' win
