Of course one could make the argument going the other way no?

I don't think Jim Les was/is handled any differently. I remember Coach Molinari having many battles with Phil Theobald and the late Dick Lein. They both wrote many "negative" articles about the basketball program when he was head coach. They did the same thing when Albeck was head coach.

Personally it does no good to continue to talk about Jim Les. He isn't the coach at Bradley anymore. He isn't being persecuted by anyone. He is coaching basketball in two time zones away. Good for him.

I'm really concerned with the future of Bradley basketball. I don't know why the past keeps coming up. I'm not personally aligned with anyone. I do know some of the Journal Star writers and find them to be friendly, professional and competent. I felt the same way about Jim Les. Or Jim Molinari. I only judge what I know of people. Impossible to do it any other way.

Poor Geno.... He doesn't know what he has in store for him... The PJS has been soooooo nice and friendly..... The home crowds are huge compared to home crowds where he has coached in the past.... and gosh darn it... People like him.

This is one of the problems with most JUCO players. They did not meet the responsibilities and requirements while in high school.
Clue #1 that there is a problem with chararcter or background.
Having said that, many players mature while at a JUCO. But not all of them. Thats where the recruiting comes in, if you want a classy program, check more than stat lines and grades, actually find out what your getting as far as Character.
I would take a team of good players with class and character over a few thugs that are awsome on the court any day. When kids see BU players they have always looked up to them which is one more reason this is important.
I have been very proud of BU for the recruits we get and the amount of class they show. I know, there have been mistakes. But overall we have always had players with class, that says alot for the program. I believe that Geno will keep that going.
Let everyone else have the talent that comes with police headlines,
                    im done rambling now
Great assessment, and yes everyone will have some problems as you are dealing with college kids who will make some mistakes along the way, just hope they are small ones that will not land them in jail.

I think it's been discussed that jucos and transfers are a little higher risk - going all the way back to the Baylor/Dave Bliss situation that blew up in his face...
and indeed most programs that can land the top high schoolers never bother much with juco kids (Duke, UNC, UCLA, etc..)
BUT talented jucos often do pay off for mid-majors....so I expect to still keep seeing them in the Valley for some time to come

When I was in college, I was just getting started at 2am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. Lots of athletes could be seen as well!
