Well the one guy who went 1-8 on the night missed all his on the good end, but made his only 1 on the bad rim.

Nonsense....we should play our home games on the practice court at RA in order to make freethrows.

            What?

this has nothing to do with where games are played.

I agree! It has to do with WHO is shooting the freethrows.

Yes....and for Bradley, DSE/JE were 5-5 at the "bad" end and JP/SS/JC were 5/14.

On the "good" end, TB/DSE/JE were 12-14. We'll never know for sure, but I'd bet JP/SS/JC wouldn't have shot much better at this end than they did at the other end of the floor.

If you can make freethrows, the rim and arena should not matter! We happen to have some players that don't make freethrows on a regular basis.

I said this after the Parkside game but I am convinced it holds true for the UMKC game...
if they kept a +/- like they do in ice hockey then the +/- on Donivine would again be positive

They do keep it. See Shaunguth's post.

                      What about the visitors?

But I never made a claim about what building it was in. I don't even know what that means.

They were 3-6 on the "good" rim and 4-12 at the other end of the floor.

Again........if you can make freethrows, nothing else should matter! We happen to have some players that don't make freethrows on a regular basis. That is what I saw!

Ok....I thought the visitors really made good shots on the "bad" rim that rattled around. I think those numbers show that a bit.

I agree, on a whole, that if you shoot absolutely perfect and the ball does not contact the rim, the ball will go in regardless of how tight the rim is. It just seemed to me, on that day, that the endzone by the student section was rather tight.

I think a lot of it has to do with how much the kids practiced FT's in High School and AAU. I know a lot of defense isn't played on the AAU circuit, so a lot of it is kids wanting to be flashy without worrying about getting fouled and shooting FT's. They can get better at FT's if they want to but most players are more worried about the rest of their game. A good coach can get them on the right path.
