Agree Braves4life. The Fieldhouse was a GREAT place to see a college basketball game. The curved hanger roof also added to the loudness and the raised floor was always a key home court advantage.

I would also go along with the opinions stated here concerning stats on the scoreboard. I noticed in the second half that stats were posted during timeouts which I thought was a nice start.

The stands were constructed of wood with metal struts. The lower stands, where the chair seats were located, were much more solidly built, but the upper level stands were constructed like scaffolding to lift them above the concourse walkway. When the fans were standing and cheering, those upper stands would start swaying and vibrating like an earthquake. There were many times I thought they would collapse under the weight of all the students packed in tighter than the rows were designed for and especially when the fans started jumping and cheering.
        .

And on the coldest winter nights, the temperature in the upper "rafter seats" the temperature was about 95 degrees. The smoke from the "lobby" created a haze in the upper regions. But, through the haze, there was Bobby Joe, Joe Billy, Barney, Shelly, Curly, Mike, Gene, Oscar, Elgin, the Wizard of Westwood and our own Wizard of OZ. Sorry. Got carried away ... and caught in a '50s time warp.

Never saw a game at Robinson, but when Braves were relative in the MVC in the 80's, 90's and even during the POB era, the PCC was rocking and sold out. I recall CU, WSU, ISU (Red), SIU and non con games (Mich) that were insane at the PCC. 11,500 in the PCC can make quite a ruckus, comparable to Robinson I would imagine.

The MVC is not as relevant as it was in the hey day of Robinson, with nationally followed/ranked teams in the MVC. This has also contributed to the lack of attendance and fan intensity in MVC games in the PCC.

If BU can have success in the Valley, establish more Valley rivalries than just ISU (red), improve recruiting, and improve non con home schedule, I would suggest the PCC would be packed and rocking again....

PS - Invest in an I-Phone and get internet access. You can access stats at ESPN anytime during the game via your cell phone!

We actually discussed this topic today in our operations meeting and I believe the plan is to show the team stats display more often. Still have to pay the bills with the sponsorships, but the plan is to increase the amount of time the stats are shown.

Glad to see some have caught on to the QR code on the scorecards. It takes a little more effort to get there, but you can also go to bravesmobile.com and click through until you get to the game, but the QR code does cut down on the number of clicks.

Hopefully, you will choose to use bravesmobile.com instead of the espn.com version.

Yes, the ESPN one tends to get WAY behind on non BCS games. Saint Mary's has only managed 6 points in the first five minutes by the way!
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!

Yes, and the bravesmobile.com version is practically instant. I don't know how you guys update it so fast!
