Really good effort but we sure don't go deep -- unless we have our 5 or 6 key guys out there we struggle...

Jordan Prosser had 10 rebs at half and ended with 12 pts, 17 rebs
Taylor Brown 20 pts, DSE with 21

a lot of the sloppy, long rebounds on missed UMKC 3-pointers went right to them -- must have had 6-8 2nd chances that way
If we get a couple of those plus just make 2/3 of the T's we win by 20-25!

DSE 36 minutes but played PG roughly 8-10 of those minutes - 5-11, 21 pts, 4 rebs, 3 asst, 3 steals

UMKC had 16 offensive rebounds, but none in the last 4 or 5 minutes, which is good. But Coach Ford was not happy about the number of offensive rebounds given up. Bradley had 17 offensive rebounds, and outrebounded UMKC 44-33. Again we have an amazingly low assist number (7) for as many baskets as we had (22).

The Good:
Jordan Prosser: 12 points, but what stood out was the 17 rebounds. I swear, it felt more like 27. Almost Rebound he had a chance to get, he got.
DSE: Very good game. 21 points.
TB: 20 Points. 7 rebounds. Nice first official game back for him.
Eastman: Only 1-4 from 3, but he played well otherwise. 12 points for him.

The Bad:
WL: Good player, but he struggled today. He should not be at PG.
Shayok: Very athletic, but couldn't hit a free throw and struggled.
AT: Not a good game for him today. We need him to play better, otherwise we have NO depth down low.

when we had enough of a margin 5-6 pts - the coach rightfully wanted the strongest defense and chose Jalen over Donvine

Coach Ford did put DS back in the game late on offense (because he's a better FT shooter) after Walt fouled out, alternating him with Jalen Crawford on defense.

Listened to about half the game on the radio. It's good to see our expected leaders (DSE and Brown) produce seriously. Also nice to see someone I think will have a breakout year, Prosser, get some serious amount of boards.

But if we're going to miss that many free throws, it's going to be a painful season. Hopefully, it was just first game jitters.

attendance 7032 shows a lot of people who claim to be BU fans are still in hiding

I am wondering why MK did not play at least a few minutes. I know you could not take out JE for him but would have liked to have seen him play some. I think JE needs to start and SS just come off the bench until SS gets his focus better handled for this level of basketball. I will take the WIN everytime BU can get it and hope for more W's soon and often.

Rebounding was the key to this BU win tonight, IMO. That started with JP's great glass work.

We got the kind of effort I think we will need all year if we are going to pick up some wins.

I thought Coach Ford used the bench well. He got quite a few guys in, especially in the first half. Once he saw how they contributed, he got a core-group and let them carry us.

Good win to start of the year.

DS looked tentative to me. I think Coach Ford probably limited his minutes because of that.

I thought Eastman was also very good. He did a little of just about everything.

My bad...I missed parts of the 1st half when I was listening to Dave Snell on the radio, having to step away a few times. Hopefully MK can get more minutes next game, we can use a few more made 3's a game.
