I am taking the benefits part as being a cut from the student ticket sales correct? Back in the day at the first school I went to before transferring to Bradley, we were rewarded with keg parties. Those days are long gone though.

More than anything else Greek organizations want recognition and prestige among their fellow Greeks. They all want to be thought of as the best. They'd compete like crazy if BU promised them a radio or TV promotional spot or mention. They'd also compete for a spot on a billboard on or near campus, or a big congratulations banner hung on Bradley Hall.

I was a Greek..... They're all about ego and "face time".

This is what I am talking about Braves4life. Find something that can get the Greeks involved and create competition. When done right, you get participation and a fun atmosphere.

As far as today goes, this is the end of Greek Week which is a pretty big deal among the Greeks. Right now, in fact, they are at the RC doing their biggest event of the year. A lot of them will not go to a Sunday game when Panfrasing falls on the same day. The student turnout seemed about right to me. We played UMKC and most of the students couldn't even tell you what UMKC stands for.

We can complain and whine and what not about the students, but that is not going to get them out. When I was on the interfraternity council board, Jim Les came to one of our Joint Council, which is the biggest meetings among fraternity and sorority boards, and promoted Bradley Basketball and doing incentives for the Greeks because he was one. I think that the Greek turnout that year was lower than I had ever seen it. It will take a lot to get them out unfortunately and I honestly don't know what will actually do it.

On a positive note, I want to give kudos to the Greeks that are there. I know the most, if not all, leaders of the Red Sea are involved in a Greek House and they try to do the best they can to get them out.

Sorry I don't have any ideas, wish I did, but that is just the way it is on campus right now. Especially after how disappointing last year was. I don't think I missed virtually any home games my first 4 years at Bradley, but last year, my 5th year, I think I only went to 2 because it was painful to watch our team.

I went tonight and while we didn't look so good for a while, we scrapped up a win. I think that will be the forte for this team even though I would definitely prefer some more blowouts

I know you weren't looking for a novel from me, but just wanted to get my thoughts out there.

Good points... I know it was tough for me to go to the game today after settling into my regular Sunday routine.

Just show up students and support your team. Edwards and Prosser were on the post game show with Dave and both were hoping for a big student turnout Wednesday because the game will be on campus. Piped music was terrible and did nothing to get the crowd into the game. UMKC called at least 2 timeouts when the Braves had a spurt and there was silence until the game resumed. Good job as usual Red Sea.

Less than 1% of the student body shows up for a MBB at a high mid major?

BU doesn't deserve the basketball program it has, and, the men that played for BU before the current student body arrived have got to be disappointed.

Geno was there, and the Band had their november concert, and concert band comes before basketball band.

I was one of the very few students in attendence and i know many were at practice for panfrasing and what not (this was my first year not participating) and hopefully we can get a lot of students out for the game wednesday. origionally i was hoping for 500 but to be honest iknow over 250 tickets were sold over a week ago, and now i'm hoping at least those 250 show up so we can make people want to come downtown to the games... idk what more we can do as a Red Sea. We send emails, we talk to students, we try so hard to get people to come and be loud and active but for some reason the trend lately has been to not support bradley athletics...

I actually have a problem with it. We all know where BU finished last year, and today were playing a team most students do not care about. When BU opened against DePaul after the Sweet 16, Carver was rocking.

The team exists for the fans, we do not exist for them. I wonder if they feel differently.

I am as embarrassed at student attendance as anyone, but TB bashing the students as a way to get them to come to games might not be the best plan.

For the record, I support athletes having twitter accounts and learning how to use social media responsibly.

... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
