Yep, no band the whole year

They're playing a concert, Dr. Cross called it unfortunate, but it should only be a one-time thing.

The basketball program knew we, the band geeks, had a concert today at that time. They were aware of that and went on and scheduled the game then.

      We'll be back, no worries.

Very surprising that the band could not be there for this game. It was not a great thing seeing an open section right by the basket.

even for the friends and family band you need a director and when the director has a concert to conduct... you dont have a band.

And no gametime change to accommodate the NFL fans?

If I'm not mistaken the bear game, which some fans would rather watch, was originally scheduled for a noon start and was switched to 3:00 after the Braves has scheduled their 4:00 start.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Yes....but that was a couple weeks ago and there was a certain segment of the fanbase that thought Bradley should change the gametime after it was announced the Bears game would be at 3:00.

Some fans don't care when a pro game is being played when the Braves are playing. Can't, or shouldn't, base their schedule around what other teams are doing.

                      I completely agree!

There should not be conflicts in the bands schedule, they are an important part of BU basketball and should be there for the team, themselves and the University, it really takes away a huge part of the atsmosphere, the music over the pa system is terrible.

Agreed about the music over the pa...sound guy was off a couple of times last night.

The band is an important part but they aren't at school to be at the basketball game...they are in school to get good grades. This concert was likely scheduled before class even started and is undoubtedly part of their grade.

Sounds like a little more coordination was needed between athletics and music departments.

@ Chico - I don't think we should always schedule around other teams either...but in certain instances it makes sense. Bears play at 3:15, band has a concert that afternoon - if we switch up the game time to 6 or even 7 then you have more NFL fans and a band in attendance. Oh well, doesn't matter, we got the W.

Here's an idea... Why not move the season opener to a SATURDAY night? I guess that I enjoy my NFL Sundays a little too much!
                            Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
