Colt Ryan with 23 points for Evansville, but only 4-15 shooting.
Andrew Smith with 21 and Chrishawn Hopkins with 22 for Butler, but not much offense from anyone else.

UNI is on the road at Old Dominion and they are up by 17 with under 2 minutes left. ODU and probable POY in the CAA Kent Bazemore are projected to finish 4th in their conference. A couple decent wins for the valley today.

WoW! Fantastic start to thw season for Valley teams!
I was confident in E'ville picking up a W vs. Butler, but was absolutely stunned by the convincing wins by UNI, and especially MSU.
I think UNI will be the #3 team in the MVC, an MSU #9, but after the resultd today, I'm inclined to say MSU is a #5 or #6 team, and ISU-red a #9 or #10 team. Still too early to tell.

SIU is down 57-50 to Ohio Dominican with 5:30 left in the game. The teams have combined for 43 turnovers so far.

Thank god that won't hurt the Valley RPI, but as I said earlier about ISU Red, SIU is another team Bradley should finish ahead of, especially based on today's performance!

This aside though, nice to see UNI and Evansville have taken out two potential NCAA Tournament teams in the first weekend of play. With ISU Red and SIU playing so badly so far, I hope the old adage "teams earn bids, not conferences" holds true despite a couple of teams potentially dragging down the Valley this year!

You are being kind- Ohio Dominican was picked 6th in the 7-team South Division of the GLIAC conference. They were 6-20 and 3-16 last season.

This was an abysmal loss to a real bad DII team. And this was not a meaningless exhibition games.
Justin Bocot and Mamadou Seck had good games, but SIU's juco transfers, and their bench didn't contribute much.

University of Southern Indiana, the D-II powerhouse coached by former SIU Associate Head Coach Rodney Watson, played Ohio Dominican tonight and beat them 71-48. Watson was lucky to get out when he did.
