One ISU player has not yet been cleared to play by NCAA - freshman John Jones -- but now it's announced while he's waiting he will redshirt

One other ISU player was missing in action last night -- Zena (Zeke) Upshaw did not travel to Fresno with the team -- no official word on the reason

Missouri State went to Nevada and clobbered the top rated team in the WAC
MSU 68 - Nevada 46 -- this is impressive given Missouri State is picked in the middle of the pack in the Valley --
MSU doesn't get a lot off the bench - but they have a solid starting lineup and Mike Bizoukas is turning out to be a steal for MSU in the one year he will give them as grad-transfer from DePaul.
Weems - had a bad game - 2-12 and 0-4 from 3-pt and scored only 4 pts and MSU still dominated Nevada

Creighton beat NC A&T 97-65, McDermott 13/4, Echineque 4 pts...
Creighton- who have the best interior game in the Valley relied on 35 3-pt shots!

Ex-ISU Redbird Jeremy Robinson almost had a triple double last night in Chicago State's 43 pt loss to Iowa...
He had 20 pts 9-16) and 7 rebounds to go with 8 turnovers!

FGCU lost by only one point 73-72 on the road at TCU! FGCU hit 61.4% of their shots

Yuba College won their opener - over Porterville 80-59.
Yuba led by 20 in the early going and by 47-25 at half so the subs got a lot of playing time.
Sean Harris led the 49ers had 8 pts and 11 rebounds ..
"We were pretty well balanced," said Yuba head coach Doug Cornelius. "We
jumped out to a pretty big lead and we got to play just about everyone."

UC Davis came within a point of upsetting Southern Utah...76-75 - freshman Terrell Corbin (son of Tyrone Corbin) had a great game - 15 pts, 5 asst

A couple future BU opponents George Washington & Michigan won

UIC got thumped by Eastern Michigan -

Matt Roth finally got into Indiana's game in garbage time and in his 7 minutes he scored 8 pts on 2-3 from 3-pt

Here's an odd one -- Furman played D-II Roanoke and won 75-49 but this was an exhibition for Roanoke but a real game for Furman.

Sammy Maniscalco 3 assists & no turnovers, 19 minutes of solid play For U of I.

    A couple misleading words there.

UC Davis was a 1.5 point favorite going into the game.

UIC led much of this game, and were within 5 with a minute left. They only lost by 11 due to FT's at the end. Give Moore some time to get his recruits in there and I think UIC could make a little noise in the Horizon.

I hope you are right. Howard's a great guy and I want to see him succeed there. But the players he has recruited so far are a pretty underwhelming group. He'll have to pick up his recruiting a bit to be competetive, even in the Horizon League. And in his first year coaching at UIC, Howard finished 7-24, 2-16, and last in the league, worse than any season Jimmy Collins ever had there.
And now they lose to an absolutely awful Eastern Michigan team- EMU was RPI 324 last year, and picked for last place this year in the MAC. He's got a long way to go.

Just learned an interesting fact -- Tyrone Corbin was one of DePaul's greatest players, and now his son Terrell is one of UC-Davis' starters and best players...recruited by Jim Les

Ironically, the lead recruiter who got Tyrone Corbin to DePaul? was another former BU coach Jim Molinari.

He was actually originally recruited by the former Aggie coach Gary Stewart before he stepped down last year, but Corbin maintained interest in UCD and Les was able to get him on campus again to meet with him and seal the deal.

To Jim's credit that he was able to keep him interested in UCD. Many players start looking around when the coach who recruited him is fired, as we all know.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
