I think its hilarious that this board is now saying the PJS is being "too nice" to the coach.

I love it how some opinions suddenly become those of "this board".

I guess everyone on TOB wants SM to "break a leg" this season?

The Bradley teams over the last 5ish years, ARENT good enough. Until our talent improves, our record isn't likely to either.

3 year process.

Bologna. You can't tell me we haven't had talent the last 5 years:
JC, TW, SM, AW - those guys were good enough to be 1st team MVC.
Then throw in CR, DD, and WE (who IMO will be very good next season).
This is up for plenty of debate, but 4 of our starters now will be talked about among the ranks of those 1st/2nd teamers above.
And if you recall, for 2 straight seasons, most BU fans were thinking we should be talented enough to finish Top 3. But through whatever circumstances, not finishing out games, and a foot stomp here and there, it didn't materialize, which I believe has resulted in thoughts about not being good enough.

The old "injuries are no excuses" philosophy. Maybe that works for high-level BCS teams with a bench full of McDonald's All Americans to come off the bench and replace injured starters, but it's silly to suggest that losing 2 potential All-MVC players for the full year wasn't a factor. These major injuries have hampered this team for the last few years. Blame the coach if you want, and plenty of people do, but things would have been much different without the injuries.
If BU has major injury issues in the upcoming years (and it's already started this year with WE), it'll be interesting to see if the same people have a different standard regarding injuries to key players.

I think my perspective has changed a little since middle of last season in that had we had TB & SM, we would likely have finished top half last season, which is a big jump from last. Hopefully the injury bug will stop at WE this season, and that Will can have a great recovery for great things next year!

Where did say I expect a top 3 finish or contenders in the Valley? I'm all for them too as I have been for every Braves team. All I'm saying is quit cutting up your previous coach, but if you have to, go out and prove he was to blame for your play last season.

But I didn't see that the players comments were cutting up the previous coach - this was not their intent. You can look at the article from 2 lenses - from a Coach Les fan lens, or through one that sees the fresh new start Braves. I think in order to take a new path and forget the past of not achieving your goals, you have to dwell on the positives of the here and now and on how the mindset and vibe has changed, which is how I interpreted it.

EDIT: After reading article again, one player's comment may have been a little cutting, but I think he is relieved under the new system and is just expressing how it's different and feels good now.

I know your reply is going to be "well they should treat him the same way they did Jim" which is even more laughable. You people have complained that they have been too harsh on the BRADLEY COACH (lets take names out of this so we can focus on whats important) and now they have been "over the top sugary sweet". I understand that some of you have personal relationships with the former coach/give more to the school than I'll ever make so you're more invested than I am but come on. Enough is enough. Considering I'm not as big a fan since I cant afford to donate money to the school, I probably wont be missed but I'm done with this place.

No my reply is that the PJS should treat the coaches objectively and be more even with their comments regardless of the coach.

Ok here's to this being last thread about our old regime compared to the new one!

I was a JL fan and liked the way he represented the school win or lose. I hope GF also represents the University with class. So far that is what I see and am quite happy. All the other talk of the past right now is noise. Let's all look forward to our future potential and hope that GF can take this program to the next level.

In fact, I think I could have written many of those articles and had more information in them than they do. I completely disagree.

I don't like the Taylor, the "jay walking" one. I want Taylor to grow up and be a key cog this year in the transition. I want him to make a Reggie Hall like switch (yea I know the talent level between the two is vast...for Reggie it was production and leadership, for TB its decorum and leadership)

But there is a reason, BU was constantly picked where it was preseason. Many fans overestimate their teams talent.

Once again, just my opinion...

With TB this team would have finished......4th
