After the deadline passing for the NBA players to accept the supposed "final offer"from the NBA owners, the owners have authorized Commissioner David Stern to sweeten the offer to the players' union.

And it was just announced that the owners and players' representatives will meet again this afternoon-

And here is a little NBA humor-

I kind of like the NBA lockout. It is freeing up time to do other things.

As the NBA lockout continues, and talks have stalled- here is a little NBA trivia-

What state is the only state in the US that has never produced a high school or prep school player that has gone on to play in the NBA?

And- which state is the only state never to have a player born in that state to play NBA?

Also- can anyone name the only NBA player in history to have played at UMKC?

I believe the state is Vermont that has never had an NBA player born, and not sure, but I can't recall any NBA'ers from Hawaii. Not sure on the UMKC question though.

You are right about Vermont- the only state that no NBA player has been born in, and also the only state where no NBA player ever attended high school or prep school.

There was one NBA player from the late 40's and early 50's who was born in Hawaii and was from a high school in Hilo, Hawaii- Red Rocha. He went to Oregan State, and played in the NBA from 1949-1957.
One other NBA player was born in Hawaii, though he grew up in California, and went to high school in Compton, CA- Cedric Ceballos.

As noted, Vermont is the answer to the top 2 questions- it is the only state with no NBA players born or prepped in their state.

The other question- The only NBA player produced by UMKC was Tony Dumas, a 6'6" guard originally from Chicago, but he went to high school in Tennessee and he played 4 years at UMKC, averaging 26 ppg his senior year. He was a first round draft pick by Dallas, and played 4 seasons in the NBA from 1994-1998-
