  • Ruffin injured, Danny Adams to start tonight

I've heard rumblings that Daniel Ruffin injured his groin and may miss up to 4 games, returning for the Chicago Tournament. Anyone able to verify or dispell this?

    CHIT!

    That's a nagging injury.

    Playable (if not aggravated more).

Nagging, and on a team that can't afford any injuries. Now is one of the few times this season we can stack wins. On the one hand it might be a good time, on the other hand it might be an opportunity lost.

I guess it just goes to show that when something is too good to be true, it usually is.

That's fine, but has this been confirmed. Someone site the source please!

I hope it isn't anything serious.

The next 3 games are at home, then 2 in Chicago, then 2 tough road games. We could probably get by without DR for these next 3 games, but then it would really hurt if he missed the games following that--

          Wed, Nov 15 SIU-Edwardsville Carver Arena 7:05 p.m.

Then 4 games in the Chicago Challenge Invitational--
Sun, Nov 19 Illinois-Chicago Carver Arena
Tue, Nov 21 Florida A&M Carver Arena
Fri, Nov 24 Rutgers at Hoffman Estates, Ill.
Sat, Nov 25 Illinois/Miami (OH) at Hoffman Estates 5/7:30p.m.

          then the 2 road games--
Wed, Nov 29 Tennessee Tech at Cookeville, Tenn.
Sun, Dec 03 Michigan State at East Lansing, Mich.

            Injuries and Felonies.

This is a hard blow to the Braves.

Add that to NCAA violations, and you've got yourself a big-time college basketball program! Welcome to the big-time I guess.

Got word from a very reliable source that Daniel did get hurt in practice. Not sure how severe or how long he'll be out.

No mention of the injury in taday's PJ Star story about the game tonight.

I'd trust the info I get from this board before I'd trust the PJS. It seems most news is broken early on this board before PJS even knows about it. I honestly think they (PJS reporters) see a scoop here first and then go about researching it to write a story

Just wanted to be clear - I wasn't saying Ruffin WAS injured, saying that I had heard from a fairly reliable source that he was, and was just trying to verify. No mention of it in today's PJ Star tells me either that they're hiding it will, or it could be overblown/non-existent. Let's hope it's the latter, and let's hope BU can get out of tonight healthy and with a win.

Thanks for the compliment about the posters on this board, B4L. Sometimes stories break here first, mostly because we operate in real-time, and don't have to wait until the next morning when we can truck the story to your porch.
But I have to give Dave Reynolds some credit. He does a much better job than most reporters for college teams I'v read. IMO he is the best Bradley reporter the PJS has ever had, and doesn't have an agenda and feel compelled to find things to snipe about.
A lot of times we'll see things on bulletin boards that may be factual, but if the official BU spokesperson won't confirm it, then the PJ Star likely won't print it. Of course, the opposite could be true, that some stuff on bulletin boards may not be true at all. Message boards can get away with some rumors, while the official media is a little more obligated to verify.

As long as we are clear that this is just a rumor, and it isn't confirmed. I just spoke to someone with BU connections that also hasn't heard anything about an injury to DR. But if it happened yesterday, it's possible that only a few would have known it.

Let's hope it's either not true or very minor. We need Daniel and everyone to stay healthy.
I am looking forward to seeing Sam Singh play. Everyone I know has been pulling hard for Sam to recover and become a key part of this team.

By the way- Sam Singh's birthday is coming up soon. November 27 he will turn 21 years old! Happy Birthday a little early, Sam. Don't get carried away on your 21st BD!

That's what I was saying last night. Let's hear the official word before we start blowing things way out of proportion.

                              A little more?

                              Those in the Drive-by Media?
