I don't want to hijack this thread but don't know where to post it. I wonder if we have a scholarship open up, if Coty Clarke would ever be a possibility again. Maybe he and Tyshon are to similar and both are JC's but it would be nice to have a couple bookends that can both rebound. I do have to admit a 3 point shooter may be a bigger need at this point though. I have never seen any updated info on offers or visits from Coty so he must be waiting on bigger offers.

I predict low possibility...Tyshon was the player Geno targeted after Coty stalled --

Coty is doing fine currently - 15.8 ppg, hitting 68% of his shots, 12.4 rpg - but reportedly expresses no interest in playing here

It's to bad we won't see Pickett and Brown on the floor at the same time. That would of been a dynamic duo. Maybe Brown will surprise us on Senior Night like Singh did.

If you look at what players Geno likes and utilizes - just check his recruiting and playing scheme at Kent State..
along with his use of TB & Shayok....

Tyshon is currently playing more like a "3" at juco but I think he's gonna be used here more like a "4" - along the lines of Kenny Lawson, or like a current player at Kent State that Geno landed in 2008 and loves - Justin Greene..
Greene (15.4ppg/8.3rpg last year) is currently KSU's leading scorer and rebounder..and has been since his freshman year!

AND...the guy who is 2nd is yet another similar player to Tyshon, Chris Evans, the juco kid we had hoped might come here.

It would be in Taylors best interest to try and get an extra year out of the NCAA as he would come out of here a much better player plus he could get one more free year of education.

you don't think BU has already explored this long ago - remember - they already had assurance on Sam Singh long before the season ended.

again TP had a great game.. 6-7 from the field, 10-14 on FT, 22 pts, 7 rebs, 2 asst, and a lot of his time was playing carefully with 4 fouls

Dodge City CC plays again tomorrow nite

Got the box score -- in such a big blowout win where DCCC led 46-19 at half...
.. the coach rested his starters plenty and Tyshon played less than 18 minutes..and 11 different Conquistador players scored - seven of them in double figures...
but Tyshon still scored 10 pts on 5-8 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds, and only picked up 1 foul

BTW -- one of Tyshon's Dodge City teammates, RJ McGhee, is already committed and SIGNED to Eastern Illinois - and EIU seems to be getting a good player...
McGhee is a slender 6-6 wing/scoring guard who has regualrly been putting up 18-20 pts, and who hits 40% on 3's while grabbing 5-6 rebounds every night.
He's also an 82% FT shooter -- too bad we got in late on RJ!

I noticed McGhee as well. Good for EIU. A 6-6 guy who shoots and scores is a commodity. Good for EIU.

                              Tyshon's stats from Saturday night's win...(Dodge City is 10-1)

                              7-8 from the floor, 4-4 from 3-pt range, 2-3 on FT's, 11 rebs, 3 asst, 1 steal, and a total of 20 pts...
(now averaging 15 pt, 10+ rebs per game)
They play again tomorrow then Friday & Saturday, then are off 'til Jan.4th!
Tyshon's shooting Saturday boosts his 3-pt shooting to 56% and his overall FG shooting to almost 67% on the season.
He is also shooting 74.4% on free throws

Teammate RJ McGhee (signed at EIU) who is Dodge City's leading scorer with 17ppg, appears to have sat the game out.
Dodge City has six different players who average more than 9 ppg, and three others who average more than 7 rpg.
Here's a great stat also - as a team they are shooting 53% from the field!!

I have gotten a little more on Tyshon's fine game Saturday night -
He also had ZERO turnovers...and one blocked shot as well..
..and teammate RJ McGhee did not play but is hopeful day to day...

The team they beat (Murray SC) had a tremendous shooting night -- going 64% from the floor & 64.2% from 3-pt range -- so considering Dodge City was without their top scorer - they really needed the great game by Tyshon and he came through
