  • Positives from last night

    1.) TB
    2.) DS
    3.) TB
    4.) DS
Well I think you get the picture. To much criticism on another post. Thought I would enjoy the positives. There were more then TB &DS but thats a good place to start. How about ZERO as in NO illegal screens. As Dan D.on 1470 said,No "T"s from anyone. No foot stomping or harping at the officials after every call against BU and last but not least no WEAVE.
Walt showed signs of improvement ,just not at the point.JP showed signs of improvement as did JE. I wanted to keep this totally positive but I have to say. Gentlemen PLEASE spend some time on FT'S. Let's hope for something other then Thur in ST. Louis but if not just continue to improve. BETTER days are ahead for our Braves.

Aside from TB and DS, who were both awesome...

JE played a great game. Played good D, was a beast on the boards, and showed flashes of athleticism that I hadn't seen before.

WL had a very solid defensive game. He stayed in front of his man and used his quickness to overwhelm his man on more than one occasion. His shot mechanics looked much better than last season.

JC showed incredible hops, a few nice moves going to the basket and will be a nice reserve guard.

JP played 18 minutes of physical bball in the first half, but the team seemed unable to get the ball into him, or he would have had a much better stat line. When he did get the ball in the post, he was very decisive and seems much more polished.

DSE played well in the first half but obviously was cramping in the 2nd half.

Too little time for NW, MK, and DH to give much of an assessment.

Overall, I think the offensive game we played would lead us to victory against a lot of teams...if we can improve our play on the other side of the ball, I think we will surprise some teams.

agree with those assessments - and I am ALWAYS going to defend our Bradley players against unfair and undue criticism -- so on occasion I might seem more positive than some want to see...
But I think there were a lot more positives than some fans want to acknowledge....
Like I said elsewhere -- for the past several months & even years we've heard fan complaints about rebounding, shooting, low scoring, crowd enthusiasm, no PG, losing exhibitions...etc...
and yet last night we showed some progress in putting all those complaints to rest...can we not talk about the positives??

Quick! Start the 'positive' thread by taking shots at the old coach! Moved on... lol

I don't think we set any screens.

Step one is in the books.

This year is all about positives, IMO.

Coach Ford and these players are laying the groundwork for the future of the program. Every day will be another opportunity to keep the process moving.

Every game give the staff a better understanding of the good and the not-so-good.

If people are expecting 15+ wins and some stunning turnaround in the first year, then I think they are asking too much. If we get those things, that's a plus. I think we really have to focus on instruction and improvement.

AMC those were not my words . Those were Dan Do on 1470 last night and by the way they were positives. You may take them as shots to JL. I take them as positives. To each his own. You may say a glass is half empty. I say it's half full.

The biggest positive of all is that we have a plan as a program.

This is a great thread! Thanks Wily. These kids just gave their all in their first game together AND under a new coach and system..... AFTER JUST 2 WEEKS OF PRACTICE! They are to be commended! Kudos BU!
