I'm going to go out on a limb. BU would be a ton better with SM than we are now and could have gone out as one of our greats. Coulda woulda shoulda is all this is guys.

SM had major trouble matching up with Mizzou last night

his shooting as been ICE COLD the last 5 or 6 games......

he played I believe 1 min in the 2nd half of the game last night

It was quite obvious last night that Sam was way too slow to compete with the Mizzou guards. They are some of the fastest guards in the country (Dixon, Denmon, the Presseys).

And whats with the all time greats line?! Sam wouldnt even crack the roster....Heck, IMO Sam wouldnt even make the "JV" team

        Hawk
        JL
        AP
        POB
        Carney
        Phegley
        JJ
        Joe allen
        Squeaky
        Unruh
        Chet Walker

5th year senior or a freshman, hmmmm I wonder who wins that battle more times than not......

Also, I would like to know who these heralded Illini big men are...

Seriously? Here is their list of commits for just 2011 per Rivals- it includes 5 forwards who were 3 or 4 stars, and 3 of them were Top 100 recruits-

Nnanna Egwu- 4-star and Top 100 player nationally-

            Ibrahima Djibde- 3-star center-

Mycheal Henry- 4-star small forward- Top 40 nationally

Mike Shaw- 4-star power forward- Top 60 player nationally-

Devin Langford- 6'7" small forward- 3-stars-

kind of silly comparing a PG with big men who don't play on their rebounding averages...

Sam is a welcome addition for the Illini who needed some leadership and he provides. That's what the coaches wanted the most and anything else he adds is gravy.

Not sure why folks feel the need to discredit him or make him bigger than he is....he will help them as long as he stays healthy....he will struggle with some BT guards but so will others in their league

Impossible considering he played 26 minutes for the entire game. He was swapped with Abrams offense/defense and probably played 10 or 11 minutes in the 2nd half.

He's already the team MVP, imagine what he'd be doing with 2 good ankles.

here we go...he's not team MVP......Illinois needs all their players like BW said in an article this morning. they get blown out against Missouri without Bertrand who hasn't done much all year...they need Paul,DJ, and especially Leonard who may be MVP if you have to have one

If you are referring to my post, that's not what I am doing. There was an initial post listing Sam's rebounding average of 2.3 as if it is something embarrassing. I was just pointing out that despite Sam being a point guard, he averages more rebounds than many of the Illini big men, including several highly regarded recruits.

yes and no DC....those guys aren't playing much so it's really a tough comparison ...and I don't think anyone should be trying to discredit to Sam..he brings value to Illinois for sure but I don't believe it's anymore than any other starter, that's all. I was a Illinois fan before I was a Bradley fan so I hope he as well as the rest do well.

We'll see how those big man do in year 4 and playing 30 minutes on the rebound situation......those guys have a lot less turnovers than Sam too

just messin with ya....have a great Christmas....I'm off to Atlanta...

Winner! You don't get to be an all-time bradley anything (let alone great) when you choose to finish your career elsewhere.

He had a cortisone shot today and will rest his ankle a couple games. He could play but will be better with some rest.
