Reading the thread entitled BU picked last in Pre Season and with the Red-White game in the books, I decided to post a poll. Please participate and post why you voted how you did. I'm saying 5th. Feel free to post after Tuesday if you wish.

BU conference finish

There is a reason that I'm waiting to finish the Examiner.com Missouri Valley Preview until right before conference season - there are too many unknowns.
Right now, I have BU finishing 7th. I just think there is too much talent at the top end of the league to finish higher. Also, MSU reloaded well, and UE could sneak into the top-3.Don't putt until the cup stops movin'

Having only seen the red/white scrimmage and none of Coach Ford??™s previous teams play, I can't even come close to making an educated guess. However, I chose ???other??? because I just can't accept 10 again! I??™m not asking for a worst to first, but anything in the top half I think would have to put Coach Ford in the running for coach of the year. If we can somehow stay out of the play-in game, I think that would be a positive first step in bringing the program back to where we all want it to be. I??™ll still hope, dream and demand better than that.
Right now, my biggest worry by far is the PG position. I like WL, but he??™s not a PG. I love DSE, but he??™s not a PG. I??™m hoping for the best with DS. I still think we could use more guards even though others might disagree. I think NW will not be red shirting this year and that??™s fine by me. If we stick to the up tempo and can find more than a seven man rotation, I think we??™ll steal a few more games than people expect.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Man, I thought I was one of the most optimistic of BU fans from recent posts. But I'm picking us to finish 6th - we should beat out Drake, SIU (though I think the Salukis will be jostling with BU all conference season as one of the surprise teams). I don't think the Salukis will be terrible this year - they didn't lose much and started playing better toward the end of last season.
I believe there will be a surpise team who finishes 3-4 slots higher than predicted, and a surprise team that finishes about 3 slots lower than predicted. Hard to get a good idea of teams like BU, ISU (red), MSU who will have a different look this season, and can Evansville really finish in the top half? Been a long time.
I see 5 teams with the possibility of finishing last (BU, DU, ISU-Red, MSU, SIU). On the same token, any of these teams have the capability of finishing 6th.
