I am moving on. I just brought up the Les/Geno comparisons since this was the first time Geno had to deal with suspending a player. I was just curious on how people would react, but yes, I didn't post that to start a big debate, and at least I will be more than happy to move on.

      Same here.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Message to AT- You can prove the depth of your motivation by simply staying out of trouble and abiding by the rules set by your coaching staff. I for one am willing to give you a clean slate from here forward. So just work hard, represent BU well, and keep your nose clean. The vast majority of fans will support you if you do this. Prove your dedication by your actions.

It's pretty clear that everyone has moved on.

I wasn't a part of the he said/he said battle that went on at the time of Jim's dismissal, but it looks to me like both sides claim to have moved on yet continue to comment about the other faction.

My two cents on the situation is this. Geno is indeed responsible for what goes on with the basketball program day in and day out. That being said, I don't feel that that the behavior of players that he didn't recruit reflects as poorly on him as the behavior of those who he brings to campus.

That is some people's opinion...not everyone's. The head coach always has to take some responsibility for actions of players, particularly if he was recruited by the coach and/or there are numerous problems amongst players or continuing problems with the same player.
I certainly don't think we have had any issues more than the next university and certainly less than most probably over the years .
A coach has to deal with them the best he sees fit and I think both JL and Geno so far have done that.

                Guys,
Styx is and was a poor recruit.

                JL's got that on him

JL put good young men in this program. That was never the problem.

We all make mistakes that can reflect poorly on our families etc.

That said, AT has certainly not made one of the more positive impressions on me, of BU players, when I see him places downtown and around campus.

Lets make sure he graduates, and be done with it, one way or the other.

Trying to take the positive out of this, though I wasn't happy in the least bit to find out about AT's news this morning.
This gives a chance for NW to get some more PT. I haven't seen him, but it may put him a notch closer to not red-shirting with AT's situation. (?)

NW seems to be a good kid that is willing to work very hard toward his goals. I think the future is very bright for him, and that he will make the most of the opportunities. Hopefully AT will make the most of his senior year.

Very disappointed in him and TB with these suspensions as the lone seniors on this team, who should be better leaders. I have supported these guys and still like them, but just expecting more from seniors.

My hope is that AT has learned from this and can contribute this year. My fear is that we will have to use Nate Wells this year as a result of AT's suspension. IMO I think that regardless of what happens with AT, we bite the bullet and redshirt Wells this year for the benefit of the program.
                    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

It's not technically a Les Vs Ford thing with handing out the discipline. A lot of the influence in discipline decisions comes from the top dog, President Glasser. I'm not sure what AT did, but if it was something crime or non-basketball activity related, then more than likely, the suspension was ordered by Glasser and "agreed" upon by Ford. Ford is new, you think he really going to start overruling the President?

I have heard that too. And I have my speculations. But I will never post my speculative thoughts here. But I am fearing the worst.

I was not a Les hater just thought it was time to move on, Geno did not bring Thompson here so it is not his fault that Thompson has an attitude problem, A.T. if you are reading this for motivation then you need to grow up as you have been here for 5 years and it is time for you to put up or shut up, plain and simple.

Couldn't we say that this is the third? First, losing Egolf for the season due to injury, then TB being suspended, and now this? I know that the Egolf injury happened a while ago, but still that's 3 bad things that have happened to this team before the season even started. The worst part is that it dealt with all 3 of our seniors.
