  • Interesting talent for Bradley??

The State Farm Tournament of Champions is less than a month away- November 22-26.

Here are a few hidden gems the Braves should be monitoring from this year's event......

6'7" Jr. PF/SF Andre Sands, Sunrise Christian, KS
    * A beast! 39" vertical- a big time talent whose stock will rise quickly!

5'11" Jr. PG Paris Lee, Proviso East, IL
    * A blur in the open court. Can find the open man or score on quick drives or pullup J's.

6'5" Sr. SF Tony Armstrong, Montgomery Carver, AL
    * Athletic, Defensive wing who is getting better and better on the offensive end.

6'7" Jr. SF Alec Peters, Washington, IL
    * Stroke has always been there- now he's becoming an explosive athlete on the drive.

6'1" Sr. PG Evan Payne, Huntington Prep, WV
    * Scoring PG who excels in the half court set, but can also push the ball in transition.

6'4" Sr. SG Kevin Crescenzi, Tilton School, NH
    * Can stroke it from deep! Excellent Basketball IQ...worth checking out.

6'9" Sr. PF/SF Andreas Bigum, Sunrise Christian, KS
    * Big time face-up shooter from Denmark. Can stroke it from deep.

6'11" Jr. C Andrew Drone, Gallatin County, IL
    * His 275 pound body is maturing and leaning out- will be a strong force in the middle in a couple of years.

6'3" Sr. PG Soheil Yousefi, Trent InternationalE, TX
    * Skilled ball handler/passer who can get up!

I enjoy seeing how the local kids stack up against the out-of-towners...like how Max dominated some of the bigger names last year

Any chance of the Renaissance Coliseum being a part of this in the future?

Here's the Tournament scoreboard and schedule..

                Three games played last night

Peoria Notre Dame edged Springfield HS 72-71 on a late 3 pointer in OT - LINK

Chesterfield (MO) Marquette beat Richwoods 52-50 - Richwoods' Preston Wells with 17
Matrquette center Ryan Rosberg - headed to Mizzou - had 25 pts, 11 rebs, 5 blks

East Peoria HS kinda looked worse than outmanned - losing to Champaign Central 109-48 - with Champaign Central netting 62 points in the 1st half.
EP's Corey Crotz - who played one season on a basketball travel team with one of my sons - had 25 as their only bright spot.
Gonna be a long season for East Peoria..

In today's games (FRIDAY) at Washington HS...

Park Tudor & their star Yogi Ferrell beat Imagine College Prep 64-45...
Ferrell is rated by many as the very top ranked point guard in the nation - and he ended with 16 pts, 4 assts.
Limestone beat Gallatin with Ex-Brave Eddie Mathews' son Hank Mathews getting 16 pts, 5 asst.

This kid Andrew Drone just committed to Rice, but SIU was after him....
and yet I found this comment interesting...that new SIU head coach Barry Hinson kinda blew his chances with Drone by how he worded his "offer"...

"Drone spurned SIU after a conversation with new head coach Barry Hinson.

"He told me I'd have to redshirt and I've been very upfront with every coach
I've talked to in the sense that I want to play. I'm not afraid to go to a
Division II or a Division III school if it means I'll get to play. I don't want to sit
around and be a bench warmer, I want to play. Rice offered me that
                    opportunity. SIU didn't."
