Creighton gets juco commitment

Creighton got a verbal commitment from a juco player, Tevin Calhoun, a 6'6" wing player from Hill College in Hillsboro, texas.

Calhoun is from Linden (NJ) High School where he averaged 10.5 ppg in his senior year in 2009. He originally signed with Central Connecticut State out of high school, but then opted for junior college. He averaged 13.2 ppg, and 5 ppg his freshman year (2009-2010) in junior colege at Division II juco Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio. He redshirted in 2010-2011 and is now at Hill College.

This puts Creighton over the limit for scholarships for 2012.

Tevin Calhoun, a 2012 junior college recruit, has been released from his commitment by Creighton and will not be attending Creighton. That puts them at the 13 scholarship limit for next year.

Calhoun is averaging 11.4 ppg and 4 rpg at Hill Junior College in Texas.
