  • Changes coming for NCAA recruiting

    From ESPN-
If a recent conference call by the Division I Coaches Congress is any indication, broad changes are in store that will alter the landscape of college basketball recruiting.

Hosting juniors in the coach's home and unlimited contact...hmmm...
sounds like they consulted Bruce Pearl and Kelvin Sampson to make these rule changes!!!

Obviously these rule changes will give the bigger, richer schools more recruiting advantages..

Has the NCAA just stopped even pretending they are fair? Every single one of these changes plays into the hands of the elite, big money schools. Ugh...

BCS has the NCAA over a barrel! The basketball only schools better find a way to become nationally relevant if they want a chance of recruiting the best talent.

            Georgetown
            Villanova
            St. John
            De Paul
            U Mass
            Xavier
            Butler
            Marquette
            SLU
            Creighton
and throw in 6 more schools, two divisions and you would have a pretty good TV market with some great hoops. Could Bradley be one of those schools?

Unfortunately, based on performance, I would argue no. We do draw a great local crowd, but I don't think if I were building a conference I would care - we need to build a consistent winner, and quick!

I agree but BU does bring to the table a few intangibles to any basketball only conference. Will it be enough if we do not improve our programs success. De Paul is lucky to be in Chicago or else they would be irrelevant.
