  • Bid for the Braves- Sat. Oct. 22 at Par-A-Dice

The 2011 Bid for the Braves fundraiser is Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Par-A-Dice Hotel ballroom, sponsored by the Heritage Bank.
The event starts at 5:30 PM with the start of the silent auctions. There are some great items as always (see below for listing). This year there will be a dinner buffet which opens at 5:30 PM.
The silent auctions are followed at 7:00 PM by the start of the night's program which features introduction of the 2011-2012 men's and women's basketball teams, remarks by the coaches, and video presentations.
There is also a live auction starting at 7:45 PM with some really great stuff. After the auctions and the program, at approximately 9:20 PM, there is a post-auction party featuring live entertainment by the West MacQueen Street Band sponsored by Herget Bank.-

Here is a comlete listing of the items and more information about the event-

There are still a few tickets available for this great event. You do not need to be a member of the Braves Club to attend.
Call the Braves Club office at 309-677-2667

I understand that proxy bids will also be accepted by anyone who cannot make it to the event. Call the Braves Club office for more details.

My wife and I will be attending for the first time. It sounds like a lot of fun! I'll definitely miss Andrew Warren's impressions, though...I always heard they were a highlight of the program.

Yes, they have always been memorable. Right up there with Dave Snell's great videos, and "the dress".

The Bid for the Braves event was a rousing success again this year. Every year this event raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for Bradley athletics, and this year was no exception.
A crowd of over 400 people crammed into the Par-A-Dice ballroom for a great dinner, auction, and party.
The auction had several hundred items up for bid- most of the items were on one of 3 silent auction tables, and then a live auction featured a couple dozen fantastic items, including the center section of the old Fieldhouse basketball floor.

The men's and women's teams and coaches were introduced, but athletes from all the sports were there. The video this year was produced by students, and featured a great montage of highlights from last year's games.

Here was a listing of the items.-
