Official Red-White Scrimmage Updates/Thoughts/Analysis Thread
Shayok looks good.
DS can handle the ball but slow on D.
Lemon is fast and will be able to run the point if he doesn't turn the ball over.
I think Prosser needs to be stronger around the basket if he is gonna play the 5.
Surprised by the skill, coordination, and size of Nate Wells.
DSE will have a big year at the 2.
The team looks very young but very athletic. It would be nice to have seen Taylor play.
Fast paced, balanced scoring, Lemon high scorer, Crawford makes first 3 in first shot, Thompson agressive, Milos hits a couple threes, all-around good game by everyone.
it may not be 100% right but that's the way I think I heard it
I was most impressed with Shayok (probs because he is a frosh)....did anyone see that coast to coast? Or when Nate got the board under the basket and Shayok was like "give it to me, i'll bring it up."
PEORIA, Ill. ? Walt Lemon Jr. and Anthony Thompson shared game-high scoring honors
with 10 points each during the annual Red-White Scrimmage Tuesday night at
Renaissance Coliseum.
And I need to add apologies regarding the failure of the live stats tonight. Though the pregame test worked fine, we were unable to get connected to the server during the game. Hopefully the chat element helped, but I realize it does not make up for the issue.

Seniors Leah Kassing (Mt. Sterling, Ill./Brown County) and MacKenzie Westcott (Williamsburg, Iowa/Williamsburg) each had eight points and three rebounds to help highlight the annual Red-White Scrimmage for the Bradley women's basketball team Tuesday at Renaissance Coliseum.
Quick take: Shayok, lemon and dse good. MK still has a nice shot. I really like Crawford and I think he and SS are a couple of real good freshman. Hodges not so good. I can see Nate not redshirting. He does need to get stronger around the basket, but for a giant he didnt move to bad at all. My biggest concern is PG. I'm really worried about ball handling. Lots of up tempo, but when it wasn't run and gun the offense sure seemed quite perimeter. Only a scrimmage, so I would take anything tonight with a serious grain of salt and probably A shot of tequilla.
During the post game autograph session, a fan asked Geno about redshirting Wells, and he said that maybe they're redshirting him, but they don't have to make a decision until the first game. Just throwing out that they haven't officially made a decision on Wells status for this season.
Technically, they don't have to make a decision until the first time they consider playing him in a game. They may hold him out for the first couple games, and if we have foul trouble among the bigs, or if depth is a problem, or if any injuries occur, he can play.
From what I saw tonight, he can help Bradley this year, but he is still a bit raw, and no doubt his skills would improve a lot if he had a chance to redshirt.
There were some encouraging signs and some discouraging things. That seven man rotation that Coach Ford mentioned seemed about right.
If Wells is going to play this year, the best time to get him minutes is in the preseason and the early season games. I can't see someone redshirting with this frontline.
