If you look closely, Harbaugh gives him a slap on the back and then kinda pushes him out of the way in the same motion. I would be ticked too!

Still doesnt justify that Schwartz acts like an ***** on the sidelines every week and no coaches say anything to him about it, they are the better men and walk away and ignore him. Schwartz had something like this coming if you ask me. It was like looking into a mirror.

Not sure what any of this has to do with the actual incident. It seems like you are justifying bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior.

A lot of people are also using their dislike of Harbaugh in the past to base their assessment of his "celebration". I noticed nothing over the top with Harbaugh as he crossed the field. His handshake and slap on the back where rushed and weird looking. I did not see Harbaugh use an expletive, as Schwartz said he did. Schwartz was ticked off because he lost their first game of the season on his home field. He overreacted to the handshake and IMO is the one that truly looked like the a$$! He is the one who says something to Harbaugh and then runs after him, having to be restrained!

Well I know I'm in the minority on this, but I don't think what he did was that bad. Yes, Harbaugh has a reputation for being a bit of a smart aleck, but I don't think he meant any harm with this.

I'm just lurking around on this one. When I saw the handshake live (the station pulled away right after the handshake) I thought it was a bit weird but nothing more. Then they came back a showed what happened. If you slow it down it looks worse then what it was IMO. Shwartz should have kept his mouth shut. He looks like a cry baby. Harbaugh did go over the top a bit and it would not surprise me he did it on purpose.

Harbaugh for "shoving" Schwartz in the back and feeling like he had to be Mr Big Stuff after his team's great win. Good coach, but a jerk....

Schwartz for thinking he had to be Mr Tough Guy chasing down Harbaugh and trying to get in his face...Good coach, but a jerk....

Good thing Coach Schwartz didn't call on "Yogurt" to zap Harbough in the crotch with "The Schwartz"..

Sure. if you're an NFL head coach, I would assume you're flat out sick after a loss. The last thing you want to see is someone celebrating in front of you, especially if there is a history, which I don't know if there is or not. Harbaugh should realize that, but he's all about himself.

Looking at the replay, it's the cocky hard handshake, followed by the "get out of my way" shove to the back which set Schwarz off.

I've never seen an NFL coach proclaim victory like that on the handshake. Ever.

That's exactly how I took it too, BNC.
Harbaugh was in the wrong. I may have reacted the same way Schwarz did...and I'm a pretty cool-headed fellow.

I can agree that Harbaugh made a mistake the way he shook hands and greeted Schwartz after the game ended, but if anything it was a careless mistake, and not one that was premeditated or intended to offend.

But IMO Schwartz's reaction went much more overboard. He shouted at Harbaugh, he chased him 50+ yards down the field when Harbaugh tried to avoid a further confrontation, he continued to yell and verbally assault Harbaugh all the way down the field, and had to be restrained by multiple players, and he made an embarrassing spectacle of himself when whatever he wanted to say could have been done in the hallways outside the locker rooms or in the press room after the game. As opposed to Harbaugh's actions, Schwartz's behavior was entirely premeditated and intentional.
As many of the commentators said after the game- every coach constantly tells his players to use judgement and walk away from confrontations like this. But he displayed exactly the opposite behavior that coaches expect from their players. And he comes off looking like a sore looser.

If any of you have seen Schwartz's antics throughout the course of this season, the term "Karma's a B!tch" comes to mind. He is over the top on the sidelines and apparently he thinks he can be the only one that is obnoxious after a win.
