I also do not want SM to fail and I wish him the best but I will view him as an ex Illinois player when his playing days are over not a Bradley player. I know some will not agree but I dont see him coming back to Bradley for alumni events. He made a choice and it wasnt to be loyal to Bradley and his team. Just my opinion and everyone has a right to one.

Yes, everyone has a right to their own opinion.

I hope SM gets to play and stays healthy. I don't, however, wish the U of I any good luck. I have never been, nor will I ever be, a U of I fan.

I, for one, just hope everyone can move on and keep the past in the past. It's a new season and hopefully the start of some great bball at Bradley for years to come!

      Go Bradley!

"I'm glad the world gets to see what I've been seeing since we were younger."

Enough of the condescending attitude toward BU and the MVC....

PS If I remember correctly, Illinois was beaten last time they played BU....
Yes, but The Ohio State University has been a level above Illinois since 2007 or so. Turner's an Ohio State elitist. After Tressel's issues the NCAA needs to check into Thad as well.

He wasn't trying to act superior.....Illinois is a higher caliber program than BU........

yeah they should look at Thad.

sure to cause consternation among the timid -- but Sammy Maniscalco was again -- DA MAN...

the Illini held an intrasquad scrimmage (Their Orange & Blue) and Sammy was nothing short of awesome --
among the leaders in every stat category...scoring 17 pts...
nailing four 3-pointers .....including (sound familiar) a 30-footer at the halftime buzzer!
            (4=slew)...Congrats to Sammy...

            Sammy draws the charge....

Sammy switches jerseys and nails a THREE

Almost every Illini fan comment on Sam is a superlative they are just beginning to realize what fell into their hands...!

Louisville also held a public intrasquad scrimmage and Rick Pitino oddly played the entire full game with his starters vs. the subs & deep subs...
so guess what the final score was.....105-60!!

I would be very impressed with you if you would quit giving the unhappy people the attention they so crave.

I was referring to he doubting Illini fans who thought Sammy would simply be a backup PG...

How would you expect Weber to use Sammy? As a starter or 6th man? And, how have the Illini looked as a team so far? Good enough to be a Top 20 team?

ah.. my mistake. I can understand their reticence. If they can keep him on the floor, he will be good for them. Illinois' problem has always been "what are the guys without the ball doing?" Usually, it is nothing. Hopefully Sammy's hustle will rub off.

Maybe, maybe not. Remember, Sammy was never a prolific assist guy while at BU. I wonder if that will change if he runs the offense at Illinois? Maybe he'll be better off as a "combo" guard with someone else running the show.

I love how so many people were questioning SM's ability and now they are all taking an about face.

What do you know....with his team down 1 SM hits a 3 to win it at the buzzer....

I think Sam was a very good player here and will be decent at U of I. He will add leadership. He will probably start since Ill doesn't have much at the point. I think he is really going to have trouble guarding Big 10 athletes. He has never been quick and had trouble guarding some MVC players. I think he will help the Illini, but if he is their star they have more problems than I think. I don't think the Iliini will be very good as it is.

I think Meyers Leonard is going to have a break out year if he can stay out of foul trouble (big if). Leonard had 18 points and 7 rebounds in today's scrimmage.

Not to short-change Sammy, but he was one of 8 players to score in double figures in today's scrimmage. Just my opinion, but your post kind of seemed to insinuate that it was Sammy and then everyone else.

Meyers Leonard had 18 and 7 rebounds, Griffey had 17, Sammy had 17, Brandon Paul had 15 points and 7 assists, Mike Henry had 13, Joseph Bertrand had 13 points and 9 rebounds, DJ Richardson had 11 and Tracy Abrams had 10.

Lots of guys with prolific scrimmage numbers today.
