Da Coach...I am disappointed. You have totally missed it! I have never said that I hope! Sammy fails (unless he is playing against Bradley, of course. And I would never wish medical problems for him. I hope that he does well. In fact I don't remember anyone wishing poor performance or medical problems for him. That would be terrible. As with many others I firmly believe that he bailed on Bradley basketball, his team mates and his fans. Illinois apparently needs a point guard. So does Bradley basketball. Sammy knew that when he left. We know who he chose, right?

I am sorry if you misinterpreted what I said. I am not accusing anyone here of hoping Sammy fails. But there are people saying this, as well as reveling in reports of his medical limitations.

The public scrimmage only lasted around 10 minutes, so 9 points, 3-3 on three point shots, is impressive for guy on one ankle.

And the term you are referring to came from this line that was written by the Chicago Tribune writer, so maybe we need to ask them-

Not that it really matters but the scrimmage was 16 minutes long.

When I was younger I saw college kids do this....and then I used to do it....but then I got really hot.

I'm in this camp as well. I don't hope SM does poorly at U of I, I hope he does well actually but it won't affect me either way. That doesn't change the fact that I am disappointed how he left Bradley. His loyalty was to the coach, no one else and nothing else, that's his choice. I'm over it but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Good luck to Sam, but I couldn't care less about how he does at U of I.

After I said I hope he does well I stated "but it won't affect me either way", which is why I couldn't care less. I understand his decision, I hope he does well at Illinois, but if he doesn't I don't care. It's actually not that hard to understand.

Have you ever hoped something goes one way but if it didn't it doesn't really matter to you? I'm sure you have. That's this situation.

I hoped the Tampa Bay Rays would make it to the World Series, but they didn't and I don't really care. I hope SM does pretty well at Illinois to represent the valley/bradley, but if he doesn't I couldn't care less..it will not affect my mood one iota.
