Illini public scrimmage today (10/15)- standout player is.....Sammy M.
Sounds like Weber may need to spend some time teaching defense.
you hit it on the head, no defense, Sam should fit right in as he had trouble guarding anyone, no doubt he can shoot but does not get enough assists for a point guard.

but Sammy hits those 30-ft buzzer beaters - hard to defend those...
anyway - in answer to an earlier question -- nobody considers Illinois a Top 10 team...
They lost a lot of scoring and senior leadership...but....just who in the Big Ten is clearly going to be any better???
I think this could be a relative down year for the Big Ten -- with several of the perennial leaders losing very key players....Leuer, Diebler,
Of course Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Michigan should be strong but after that everyone else also has big losses and questions...then there are around a dozen near-automatic wins if you can just stay focused and knock off Indiana, Iowa, Penn State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Minny...
So I think if Sam stays healthy and can lead the Illini to 4th place in the Big Ten then they go to the NCAA
