Got mine -- tickets are available for UW-Parkside in the first 3-4 rows at courtside...
AND -- when ticket sales open up to the season ticketholders for the SEMO regular season game, there should be tickets inside the first 10 - 15 rows or so along courtside as well from what is selling now...
..so if anyone says they are upset that they didn't get good seats..there is NO excuse!

Some have predicted that HALF of the season ticket holders will be shut out but I seriously disagree -- I think everyone who wants a ticket will get one and if they choose NOT to pick up the phone or drive over there to buy them at reasonable prices, then they must NOT want them...

I look forward to seeing what seats are still available five weeks from now when the remaining tickets are made available. I'm not sure which would be sadder.....shutting out some fans by having a regular season game at this arena or not selling out a home game at an on-campus arena that only seats 4,200 people.

It wouldn't shock me for it not to sell out.

That would truly be embarrassing, especially with the fanbase Bradley has and the new enthusiasm/excitement that comes with a coaching change and the apparent more fan-friendly style of up-tempo style of play.

From what I am hearing, there will be no problem with it selling out.

I still do not get why it is such a crime for Bradley to play a game at the on campus arena. So what that some fans may be shut out of tickets! It will be interesting to see what the atmosphere will be like, and it gives students a taste of what other schools feel when they play their games in a raucous on campus setting. Big deal if some fans miss one game out of the whole season. If they have an issue about losing some money from their season ticket fees then they should take it up with the Bradley administration.

Here's my reply to this very question a couple months ago....

I don't like the idea because the AD says it's to create a greater student interest in the men's basketball program, while also saying things like "We don't want to limit people's ability to see games".

That's exactly what's happening when you sell approx. 7,000 season tickets and only 2,850 tickets for this game will be available!

Others at Bradley have said such things as "I believe Bradley is committed to making its events available to all its fans". I don't know how they can make these statements with a straight face!

I also look forward to seeing how many students make it to the next home game just three days later.

But we're talking just one game here. And a lot of other schools do the same thing!

The point is they know how many season tickets Bradley sells and they still make the decision to play a regular season game in an arena that was built for women's basketball and volleyball.

If it's about money, tell me that. I still won't agree with the decision, but don't feed me lines like "We don't want to limit people's ability to see games" and "I believe Bradley is committed to making its events available to all its fans".

If it's about creating student interest, then we'll find out how well this decision worked in that regard at the next home game.

                          +1

It's only one game against a crap opponent.

IMHO, you are thinking way too short term here. While I disagree with how the Athletic Department has handled things with the students, this is a building process and you can not expect overnight success.

                            Time to move on.

and it's likely never going to be more than one game a season against one of the really bad opponents--

Had BU simply dropped SEMO from the schedule or played them in Timbuktu - everyone would have been just fine with that saying..
I really didn't care to go watch us play SEMO anyway...

But they set up a nice chance to return to campus and see the game in a great setting and then some are unhappy...
I don't see the reasons to worry yet -- everyone who wants to see this game will be able to get a ticket..

People who own 4, 6, or more season tickets downtown are not going to go get the same number for this game -- it's just not happening -- and this is exactly what has happened in the NIT/CBI/CIT games and that's why post-season NIT or CBI games only draw 4000-5000...even against top opponent like Cincy
Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

If BU is going to draw those numbers - then it is a slam-dunk GOOD business decision to host the game where BU makes a FAR greater bottom line and doesn't end in red ink.
