How hard can it be for an upperclassman (and a supposed team leader) to follow team rules?
What is wrong with this kid?

Originally posted by Braves4Life View PostI'm with SFP on this one. Most people have said they want more of a concentration on local and in-state kids instead of these kids from TX, AK, NV, etc. that just don't seem to pan out like their press clippings would indicate. I like that the last few years we're now getting what appears to be quality in-state and local kids.
I have also seen plenty of people talk of recruiting Chicago. Besides, if you're speaking of the players from TX, AK, and NV that I believe you are.....I thought they were simply not being used right and it was the previous coach's fault for them not panning out, except in the cases when CB was on the staff. Those teams were obviously not JL's responsibility.
In fact, two kids from Texas come to mind that worked out rather well....Roberts and Franklin, along with a number of others from outside the Peoria area.
Like I said.....recruit the best players no matter where they're from. I simply stated that "some people don't believe in recruiting local players for whatever reason". I stand by that statement. I can't help it if others don't think there are people out there that think that way.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. I don't believe Egolf and Milos have been used right. It will be interesting to see if they fare better under Geno. AT just hasn't performed (for whatever reason). If these guys suddenly reach a higher level under Geno then we have our answer. If they don't then they were just bad recruits.

No doubt we've had some good recruits from outside Illinois. But the fact that Les switched up his thought process by recruiting better locally the last few years (and continued by Geno) shows that you can get a clearer picture and better look at a kid that you can hop in a car to watch whenever you want.

People with differing opinions often lead to good spirited debate. You know I've always been an advocate for minimal censoring, unless it crosses the line...... and the Mods here generally do a good job with this. When they don't I (and others) will always call them out on it. You and I don't always agree on things shaunguth (boy, is that an understatement ), but I respect and welcome your opinion and those of other posters..... even when I think you may be out of your mind.
Maybe there was also a misunderstanding.......when I said "local" in that statement, I meant the Peoria area.....not Illinois.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

I'll give you Shayok as a "swing vote", but no way was Crawford recruited within 200-250 miles of Peoria. However, that's probably an opinion and I'm probably on the wrong side of it.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again.
