Wichita State was one of the last D1 teams to finalize and release their schedule yesterday. They have 17 home games, including one off-campus at the downtown Wichita InTrust Bank Center, and one against crosstown D2 school Newman University.-

Fans were hoping that they could get Kansas State to come play them in the cross town In Trust Arena, but they were able to land UAB for that venue.
BTW -- the Bloomington paper says this about ISU's schedule..
"Getting to play Rutgers and Illinois or Richmond in Cancun definitely makes it a better schedule than last year.
It would have been nice to see one more better nonconference opponent, something like a home-and-homer with a Saint Louis or another Atlantic-10 school.
Opening with a game halfway across the country at Fresno State is a good way to start the season.
Fresno State isn??™t a world beater by any means, but it??™s a winnable game that looks better on the resume than beating Southern Illinois Edwardsville or Norfolk State at home.
ISU definitely needs to beef up the schedule in the future. At least there??™s no three-game Thanksgiving snoozer at Redbird Arena this season."

Looks like a pretty good schedule that puts them in the conversation for an NCAA bid if they win enough of those key non-conference games.
They could have used a schedule like this last season when they essentially had to win against UConn and/or San Diego State to have a chance. Instead they lost to UConn and SDSU and had nothing else of substance to write home about when Selection Sunday came around -- which was too bad because they had a good team (as shown in the NIT).

I am pretty happy with the schedule over all. Has some good top 100 type RPI games and a few fluff games which every schedule has. Definately has the potential to be better than last years, I agree.
At first I was a little disappointed that the last game that was causing the schedule to be delayed ended up only going to Div 2 Newman University. But I do have to admit that when we have played them in exhibition games it has actually been a pretty fun environment. Given that Newman is just a few miles from Koch Arena here in Wichita they bring a pretty good group of fans and it makes it pretty fun. I suppose it's better to play that game (even for the fans) than it would be to play some 300 rpi team that not many people have heard of.
I'm satisfied overall.
