BU can offer Parker a system that will show case his skills while the other guys have other players they also have promised the same thing. There are plenty of advantages for a top player to chose BU and I'm sure GF and staff are adept at pointing them out. You have to play to win!Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

If we are talking about a player in the top 100 in the country, then I can agree with you. IMHO, the top 100 type of players are the ones we should be allocating time and resources toward. But this is the top or number 2 guy in the nation, who given what was stated at the beginning of this thread, is going to college for one year and then wants to head to the NBA. What can we offer this kid? Just how many Geno coached players have reached the NBA? These will be the type of statements thrown at the kid by the other colleges who are recruiting him. IMO, this sounds like one big recruiting publicity stunt for the fan base. Sure we will probably get a visit, but I am not buying into this one.

No. I am impressed that a visit will occur, but I think in the end he will likely get some good advice and go to a school that will a) feature him b) get him on tv a lot

Where does he have the best chance of putting up OUTRAGEOUS numbers? At BU as the best player by far, or at a Duke where his numbers could get watered down by the talent around him? I would contend that he could achieve lottery status at BU just as easily. Look at POB, Hersey, AP.....

The Valley teams as a whole need to land one of these top tier players every year or two to get MVC respectability back on par. I applaud the Brave's effort to do their part and hope you are successful. If not on this one, maybe the next one that comes along? I don't like much of anything about the Shockers but would like to see them land one too.

No doubt he could achieve lottery status, but getting them more exposure could up the $$$ which is the ultimate goal for these 1 and done guys. Besides, after settling with Les, BU doesn't have the cash to outspend a school like Duke on a player like this.
NBA teams don't want to see them putting up unrealistic numbers playing mid major schools. They want to see them go up against the best talent the NCAA has to offer to see how they could possibly fare in an extremely tough NBA environment. I can still somewhat see your side of the argument with players like Kenneth Faried for example, but could he have been drafted a little better had he been playing in the big east beating out the competition. maybe...

That is an antiquated idea. The scouts will find a talent like that if they are playing at Duke, Bradley, or NW Alaska St A&M.
