I've said it before, the only time Bradley has had success on the basketball court is when we get a guy who over-achieves and plays above the MVC. It is the only time we have contended for conference titles and/or made the NCAA, regardless of coach. Historically, you need a guy like that at BU to push us over the top. If that is the case, they should be going after those guys. In BU's case, I am referring specifically to JJ, Hawk, AP, POB.

I believe the NBA has a salary cap so upping the $$$ is irrelevant. Regarding what NBA teams want to see, I say it doesn't really matter since they'd probably take this kid right now as a lottery choice if given the chance. Playing mid-major level talent changes nothing here.

But, just to be fair here TheGuy, I could EASILY put on my Coack K or Calipari hat and make your argument as well. So......... for now just let me dream, please.

Sure the scouts will find them, but what happens if a player of this caliber goes to a mid-major and gets injured. That player can fall off the radar very quickly. On the other hand, a player like Kyrie Irving benefited by going to Duke.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

No, but he put up great numbers and led Bradley to an NCAA appearance and three NIT's. Plus he scored almost half of Bradley's points against Stanford in their NCAA Tournament game. There's no reason why we can't get someone of his caliber here every so often.

As long as they are a chemistry major too.

NW Alaska St A&M? Did we get them on the schedule?

Seriously though, good for Bradley in at least going after players like this, even if 95% of these players are not realistically going to pick us? At least this gets us on the map when it comes to seriously going after blue chip recruits like this.

                    no brainer

Anyone who knows basketball and has seen him play live at least 3 times realizes what type of talent we are talking about here..he may be the best hs player in the country regardless of class.

I'd say BU has less than a 1% chance to land this kid gerry. What say you?

                        hard to say

braves4life hard to say....think BYU has great shot..dont think he will go to Duke or Illinois though..I have seen him since 7th grade and he is a good solid kid...could see him taking his own route..but we will see...it would be great to get him even though it would only be for a year.

We had to let the King of Cupcakes defend their title!

Jabari Parker out Simeons High School (Chicago, Il) is being touted as the No. 1 player not only in his class but by some as the No. 1 player in the country regardless of class.

Being trailed by Duke, Michigan State, Illinois, BYU, North Carolina and just about every other top school in the country the top player in the country regardless of class didn??™t disappoint.

Could hosting the IHSA Tournament have something to do with this? He's been in Peoria at least twice and must feel somewhat comfortable here and playing in Carver Arena.

He's a once in a generation recruit, and even if Bradley comes up short, getting him on campus for a visit is great publicity! Hopefully it gets the attention of some of the other Chicago area recruits we are after.
