  • If Butler can make 2 straight championship games and VCU and George Mason can make final fours, why is it impossible for a Bradley team with the best player in his class to make it? Likely, no, but it is really "likely" for any team to make a final four anymore? It is a toss up who will make it once the field is set. If you have a star player or two, and a solid team around them, then it is not out of the realm of possibility for any one to make it once in the tournament.

However, 67 teams still have to lose so everyone has just as much probability to lose in the first round (outside of the top few seeds.) No one can predict the tournament. Just get in and you have a fair shot, and I think this kid can at least get us in the field to have a fair shot. Look at Kentucky, they've been loaded with top talent and have not won the championship anyway, so "realistic" shot is up for interpretation. I know it would be easier to make the tournament at Bradley, and like I said then who knows what can happen from there.

I'm not sure anyone said it is impossible for Bradley to make it. Obviously it's "possible" for any one of 345 teams to make it.

That said, here are the twelve schools that have won the NCAA tournament over the last 20 years.....

      Duke (3)
      North Carolina (3)
      Connecticut (3)
      Kentucky (2)
      Florida (2)
      Arkansas
      UCLA
      Arizona
      Michigan State
      Maryland
      Syracuse
      Kansas

I just don't buy the statement that every school has a "fair shot" at winning the national championship once they get in the tournament. I also don't understand how it would be "easier to make the tournament at Bradley" than it would be at Duke, Kentucky, or even Louisville.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. I was thinking it would be easier for a player like him to, along with a solid team, try and win the Valley than to go against all the teams in a "power" conference. If you are in a mid-major league with a star player or unusually great team, usually you tend to win a lot of games and make the tournament. Like UNI did a couple years ago, or like BYU did, ect. You are competing against major conference bias and have to win your conference to guarantee a spot in a mid-major league though I suppose. There are less spots up for grabs for us. Still if he is as good as he is being promoted, "better high school player than Lebron", then he ought to be able to carry a solid supporting cast to the MVC championship or a good enough resume to get an at-large. However, I agree this is probably all irrelevant anyway. Good to dream in the offseason though, why not? Anyway that is what I was thinking with that statement.

          • new NBA collective bargaining agreement

This new agreement from what I am hearing will allow guys to go from high school to the league again and if that is the case then we all know he is gone. And i am hearing speculation that he may go overseas for a year and make a few million and then come back for the draft. The mom absolutely loves coach K which is not shocking...we will have to wait and see.

            • I've heard from someone close to Parker that Bradley is no longer being considered.

I am not saying you are wrong, because I think we have no chance with him. But as your first post saying you heard from someone. I am not going to buy that, I will wait for a more dependable source.

Thanks for sharing. I don't want my other post to sound rude since you have no choice that it is your first post. Welcome to the site. I am sure if you are correct we will hear from others soon enough.

Not the end of the world if it is true.

Jabari is now getting going on his high school (Junior) season and their team is many people's pick as the best in the nation..
Parker is getting heavy recruiting interest from everyone -- UNC, DUKE, etc..
Jabari Parker rates both UNC and Duke right where he rates Bradley -- as "possibly deserving a visit" - he has NO favorite and no specific plans for any visits right now...
So - sounds like BU is still in the running!

FWIW, I have had a couple conversations with folks close to his family, and they have told me that Bradley was not being seriously considered.
